  1. I've seen this for the first time in my life just last night on TCM. Being a fan of James Garner, in combination with watching the first 5 minutes of this movie, I watched with rapt attention. And got promptly lost..... Not that I didn't enjoy it, it was great to see NYC shot in that manner in the 60's. But, I'm still left wanting in terms of tangible meaning within the film. I caught religious symbolism with the name Grace and so on. Certainly this was a film meant to make you think. But that being said, will additional viewings add any more meaning to the viewer or is this just a plain head-scratcher?......Maybe I should read the book?
