I think what most Americans are forgetting is that the age of consent in the UK is 16. Dan is 17 which makes him legal over there.
As for the pictures, they are a lot more tasteful than some I have seen used to promote TV shows. I can also understand Dan's desire to break the HP typecasting, we all know it has ruined the careers of many artists. It takes a lot of guts and courage to walk out of your safety zone and I applaud any artist who is willing to do so. Dan is trying to build a career as an actor, not just settling for being the kid who played Harry Potter.
And, yes, unfortunately, there will probably be pictures on the web before the closing curtain. I have read that the security measures are going to be tight for the theater but unless they do body cavity searches, someone is going to get a camera in.
