Re. The Quiet Man
For the whole story on THE QUIET MAN look for the book The Complete Guide To The Quiet Man by Des MacHale, published in 2000 and revised in 2000 by Appletree press. It contains location maps of the different scene's,words to the music and the translation from the Irish. It has many pictures of the Irish, the countryside and to much to tell well worth the $35.00 my daughter spent for it. The book has over 200 pages and measures 8x11 inches. My late wife and I have been watching this movie since 1952 I used to stay up late at night to watch it and when Beta VTR,s came out I taped my first copy in 1976. Boompa.

The scene in MARTY where he brings Clara home, she goes upstairs >opens the door goes by her parents room talks to them about her date with Marty, after she leaves their room the father (played by James Bell) tells his wife I sure hope that boy calls her tomorrow, I love that girl<. This scene was not on a VHS copy I purchased nor on the DVD, Luckly I had A Beta Pre-recorded tape of which I copied the missing scene to a DVD. The Oscar winning movie ran 94 minutes the VHS and DVD copies run as it says on the box approximatley 90 minutes, so if you have a VHS or DVD it is not an Oscar winning copy. Boompa
