I am hoping that someone can please help me with the name of an old movie i once watched as a teenager and have never seen again.
Black and white ... probably from mid 50's to mid 60's?
An introverted museum worker takes a liking to a new piece (a mummy's tomb) recently on display in the gallery.
He is given the task of cleaning up and locking the museum at night.
One night he decides to investigate the new "tomb" - is that what you call it?
It is massive ... kind of like tutankhamen, or something like that.
Anyway, he ends up opening the tomb and awakening a "mummy" who comes to life an treats him as his master.
Soon he has this mummy wrapped around his little finger and carrying out fiendish tasks for him over night before returning to the tomb as though nothing had happened.
In one scene, the mummy pulls down a famous bridge!
The character i am talking about (this museum worker) is quite a famous actor of his generation - but i may have the era wrong?
Please help ... i've tried searching titles like: "it" ... and "The Thing" ... or just "Thing" ... all to no avail.
