After seeing A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE again last night on TCM, for sure Marlon Brando is the most handsome man and actor I've ever seen.
-
Didn't Yul Brynner pose au natural??? I think he was one of the first to do that.
-
I like the obvious:
Marlon Brando, William Holden, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, William Holden and Paul Newman.
But I also like the rugged look like:
Steve McQueen, Richard Widmark, Vic Morrow, James Cagney.
Some others I thought were handsome but nobody has mentioned:
Yul Brynner, Charlton Heston, Burt Lancaster, Michael Landon, Dana Andrews, Joseph Cotton, James Dean, Robert Montgomery, Richard Basehart, Ralph Meeker, Glenn Ford, John Forsythe.....I could go on and on..

I must thank TCM for showing On the Waterfront and East of Eden back-to-back. I love On the Waterfront. I think it is one of the best films ever made. I think Brando was awesome, the way he played the part of Terry Malloy. I don't think many actors can top his performance. I also like East of Eden. I haven't seen it in quite some time and I think this was James Dean's best role. Is anyone else planning to watch these films tonight???

My choices for "worst best pictures" would be:
Chariots of Fire
Shakespeare in Love
Million Dollar Baby
Crash
The rest of them were probably so bad, I can't remember them or never saw them.
On a side note - I noticed some posters mentioned these films: Rocky and Forrest Gump and Titanic. I loved each of these films. Rocky was an excellent film and I generally don't go for boxing films too much. Forrest Gump is outstanding - I can watch that film and never get tired of it. Titanic was also one of my favorite films.

Is this Captain Chesley Sullenberger???

I really don't know who any of the photos are, but I'll take a guess:
#2 = Eva Marie Saint
#3 = Joan Crawford
#4 = Montgomery Clift

Wow, Clint Eastwood looked great in that photo. George O'Brien looks like he's wearing a male adult diaper, and I'd prefer not to see that photo of Rock Hudson. I like the photo of Eleanor Donahue. Wonderful photos on this thread.

Angela Landsbury?

What an odd topic....sounds like an interesting film. A bird or duck can pee or poop on one's head as well....

Just saw the movie "THE WILD ONE". This has got to be the dumbest film I've seen. But I must say, Marlon Brando makes it palitable. Brando was the best looking guy I've ever seen. He can make a terrible movie much better by just being in it.

If anyone is interested - here is a link that explains everything that happened. It is a lengthy article. Landis should not have been asked to be a guest programmer - reading the account of what went on and at the trial as well, would make those in favor of him perhaps have a different viewpoint.

I didn't watch Landis on TCM last night. Very insensitive to have this person as a guest. I never liked him after what happened to Morrow and the 2 little children. That was the most tragic thing and 3 people were lost due to negligence on that set. They should have played Blackboard Jungle all evening long for Mr. Landis to view.

I looked at the photo of the Morrow sculpture and the website link you provided to view your other work.
I salute you, this is fine and exceptional - top notch.

I saw this movie on TCM last night and all I can say is THANK YOU TCM for showing this gem. It's been quite some time since I saw it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Vivien Leigh was awesome as Blanche and Marlon Brando's performance was riveting.
I had read that Burt Lancaster was selected for the role of Stanley on Broadway and turned it down giving a relatively unknown guy Marlon Brando the opportunity to play the role that catupulted him to fame. I bet Lancaster kicked himself for turning down the role. But I don't think anyone can play a better "Stanley" than Brando - it's been tried many times, but nobody can recreate it - Brando made this role his own. Great film.

great photos in this thread. Boy, MM had a HUGE butt - probably doesn't even notice a pole seems to be shoved up there - I can't figure that photo out.

Marlon Brando for me. I like him and enjoy all his films, there are some other classic actors I like too, but John Wayne is definitely NOT one of them.

Vance, Vivien.....(2 "v's")

My favorite Paul Newman films are Cool Hand Luke, The Sting and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I think he was such an iconic actor and there isn't many current actors that can hold a candle to these legendary, classic actors. Newman was a fine human being, on and off the screen. His enduring marriage to the lovely Joanne Woodward for 50 years, his acting career, his humanitarian and charitable efforts were all qualities that many of today's folks should try to follow - this was a complete, perfect human being. I think TCM dropped the ball by not posting any photos or "memoriams" to this fine actor as another poster alluded to. I looked yesterday and didn't see anything and logged on today and still see nothing - maybe I missed it - but I think it's a quite a travesty and TCM should really acknowledge this man somewhere on the website. Every other site has had tons of stuff on Newman and I am quite shocked to see nothing on the "classic movie" site TCM.

I LOVE LUCY!

These photos are exceptional, really a terrific thread. The only one I thought was unnecesary was the photo of Clara Bow - I found that a bit insensitive and it was a little offensive to me to see that - just my thoughts and I'm sure I don't count for too much here as I don't log on to often - but generally, these are fabulous photos. Keep up the great work!

LOL at Mongo - yes - Tab Hunter was "happy" to see Nuryev in that photo - perhaps he just took a Viagra pill - although I don't think they had such a thing back then.

Is it Fred Astaire?

thanks very much!

Brando was gorgeous...my knees go weak looking at him.
