Oh, okay thank you for explaining Mongo. In that case, I'm now wondering whether Lee J. Cobb, Martin Balsam and Richard Basehart were featured at some point in Spotlight? I like those actors.

That baby photo of Vic Morrow, I took one look at it and without reading who it was, I knew it was Vic Morrow. That mouth is unmistakeable. Awww - what a cute baby!

What Classic Films Were Your Biggest Disappointment?
I'll start:
Casablanca - I thought it was boring - although it did have some great lines.
Citizen Kane - I still can't stay awake for the whole movie - I've tried many times
-
Is the last post Gary Cooper photos? I'm sorry I'm not really familiar with him, but he must be popular if there are so many posts devoted in this thread to him.
-
I like a few musicals. I love the Anchors Aweigh where Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly dance with the cartoon characters.
I also like Singing in the Rain and Yankee Doodle Dandy
-
I've never seen Taras Bulba - the name of the film makes me physically ill. I picture some guy with a bulbous nose.
-
I was wondering how someone is selected to be in the Spotlight? Is it just someone who had a birthday?
I would like to know if William Holden, Linda Darnell, Sidney Poitier and Richard Widmark were ever featured in the Spotlight?
-
I think the May schedule is very diverse and interesting. I think TCM does a great job in selecting different types of films.
I would like to see the Brando documentary which is a switch from movies. I think he was a very magnetic actor - and I look forward to seeing him in Streetcar Named Desire. I haven't seen the film in a while, but I remember that I was sitting on my bed eating popcorn and then Brando entered the film and I recall dropping my popcorn all over the floor because I had never seen such a sexy actor - especially back in the 1950's. This time, I'll have a better grip on my popcorn when I watch this film.
-
Oh, I see - it's Vic Morrow's birthday - happy birthday postumously to him.
Mythoughts: I don't think I'd like Vic Morrow with a crew cut, I'm glad that he didn't have to do that for the Combat! t.v. show.
He was a great guy - I was wondering if anyone knows why Vic Morrow and his daughter Jennifer Jason Leigh were estranged. Does anyone know? I once saw her being interviewed by James Lipton of "Inside the Actor's Studio" and there was a big photo of her father hanging on the wall and she really never made too much mention of him and never talks too much about him. I'm sure it really was traumatic for that family to see the horrific way he passed on...but I was wondering why they were estranged?
-
What a gorgeously handsome man. The color photo looks like he has a hairy chest - love hairy chests.
To Movielover: I haven't read all the posts yet, just was reading your last one - I'd take a cab ride any day if Vic Morrow was the driver - he'd get a big tip from me.
I always used to watch Combat! and liked him in that show - but this forum has given me a renewed interest in him - especially seeing these photos of Vic Morrow - my goodness - my Valentine's Day isn't that bad after all - LOL
-
I believe Kay Lenz was married to David Cassidy.
I'm ready to share my brownies with all of you!!!
Thanks for making my day so nice.
-
Happy Valentine's Day everyone. As you can see, I have no Valentine this year, so the day is pretty boring - but I decided to see y'all on the TCM boards.
I personally wasn't looking forward to Valentine's Day because I thought it would be a little depressing this year with no Valentine and home by myself. I'm managing though - I baked myself some brownies today....

Oh, okay sorry. I took my post off - I'll pass on this.

I wasn't responding to your particular thread - I thought you just pick the most current thread if you want to add a new post? Did I not do it right?
I don't like the 3 Stooges - that's my answer.

The instructions were too long to read...I pass

I don't dislike any particular actor/actress. Sometimes I don't like them in a certain movie, but then maybe I would enjoy their performance in another film. I also can't see the disliking of Marlon Brando which seems to be overwhelming on this thread. He doesn't bother me and I if I had to voice an opinion on him, I 'd say he was one of the better actors. Some of his earlier performances are amongst the greatest ever made.
Speaking of Johnny Depp, he is a very good actor who happened to get some acting instruction from his mentor and good friend Marlon Brando.

Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you cinemascope. I didn't realize that being a fairly new person to the boards precludes me from posting what I thought was an interesting topic.
I suppose from now on, I'll just reply to threads that are already on the board and not create any of my own. It's tough being new and sorta feeling like you really don't fit in with the folks who have been here a while.
