Lol Creme? Adorable. He does represent the Lollipop Guild in his own way . . .

According to Jake, it's anything John Wayne's been in....

Sineaste-
Whoa, doesn't the singer in 10cc sound like he's been taking in some helium balloon?

Schumann. I love the Lieder... though, most of what I saw on youtube was the ladies -not what I like best. I like the baritone men. You guys may know that by now..
Try this, Schumann's Dichterlliebe; I think it so Douglas Sirk (hehe):

Looking for a good Spring song. We are getting the hints here in Minnesota. What songs do you Identify with Spring?
No, MM- I am not ready quite yet for Vivaldi....
In the meantime, Stevie Wonder, though the reference is "a summer's day":

Wow, Never thought of studying _this_ screenplay.. Despite the campy-ness of the script, Douglas Sirk has the unique ability to draw our emotions into this complicated drama. Sirk makes us take our cynical guard down about all the characters, even over the top Lana Turner.
Oh Christopher, now you've got me searching out a another book...

That's always a danger with topical humor. Ironically, it is the funniest too, for it touches us personally. yet, I still laugh at Marx Bros *The Cocoanuts* - No wait, those Florida land boom/bust jokes are topical again -****..
I think we just have to roll up our sleeves and get the youngin's interested in history and current events again..

Good choices, Jake. Hearing Roundabout again brings back a wonderful memory. I always loved the bass in that one! All the playing is sublime....*Yes* is a terrific group. Thanks!

These are all great! Love that British Music Invasion. Thank you; inspiring.

Thanks MM, I heard parts of it elsewhere. I was familiar with it; my ex had a recording. I put it (the movie) in my Netflix queue. I would have never known about it if it wasn't for you writing. Thanks again.

It has been brought up about chemistry between two leads. Keep in mind for onscreen chemistry to work, there must be argumentation. Without fireworks, how does the audience even care or identify with the characters? Women can enjoy the lovey-dovey stuff, but men have this testosterone thing, and they have to have battle for dominance.
Spencer Tracy+Katharine Hepburn= Good chemistry.
Cary Grant+Deborah Kerr=Not so much. Even I can agree to that. The biggest conflict those two had was who was going to sit where at dinner.

For that matter, why not John Wayne?

Getting ready for a tribute day on Friday for John Belushi. Love him, and loved the Blues Brothers. I don't want him to be remembered for how he died, but how much he entertained us. Post what you want in the meantime.

I just realized how wonderful to listen to Willie Nelson while doing my taxes! haha..

I agree with you. Here's the list of Nominees in 1973:
Marlon Brando -- Last Tango in Paris
Jack Lemmon -- Save the Tiger (won the Oscar)
Jack Nicholson -- The Last Detail
Al Pacino -- Serpico
Robert Redford -- The Sting
What Brando was doing in that list is lunacy..

h5. We hear from the Fourth Estate
Ha! Of course a newspaper man would get it right, stick to the facts, and correct accurately without causing his opinions to be the focal point -only to illustrate if necessary his point of view. Sorry for the run on sentence, but I appreciate your comments. I wish you were giving analysis of HCR (not here-the thread would be locked). I stand corrected. Thank you for setting the record straight.
h5. Dancing with the Stars
The dance numbers with Vera Ellen and O'Connor were charming. I didn't know you guys could could trip with Terpsichore so well.
I still want to see the George M Cohan musical. But alas, I won't get to see Cagney dancing it.

Airbus (aptly named)
All I know is my carry-on barely fits overhead, I'm a 95-pound, five-footer and I feel cramped.
