Trying to find big heads who sing. Note the proportions.
Brenda Lee:
Dean Martin (don't let the padded shoulders fool you):

I think it's true. Watch even your local news, and you noticed the most attractive have heads that are at least well-balanced to the shoulders. They have to sit still and you notice it. More interesting than to focus on that than the murder and mayhem they're reporting.
But the symmetry of the face is important too. There was a study (sorry don't recall the source) where they tested people's reactions to a face they deemed attractive or not. The most symmetrical were deemed the winners. I think Audrey Hepburn has the most beautiful face- very well proportioned.
Most of us though were damned on our very first journey; through the birth canal. Did you know that? But at least some of us are cute.. ;-)

I'll tell you what. I will see if I can get another thread going. Maybe the amazing life of Movie people in/From Minnesota or something. Haha, currently I don't even have a camera, but as soon as I do, I will capture the location if I can. I have a trip planned this winter/spring for FL and I will make it my #1 mission.

James Taylor and Carole King. In honor of my sis, Carol, for being there for me.

Then please, Markfp2, change the subject heading... I changed it back. I hope the airport keeps showing TCM ... that's a nice reputation to have..

Oh, you hit a touchy subject with me. Juno. That screenplay writer, Diablo Cody, won for the cleverness of the syntax and expressions used. Nothing more. Story itself is as thin as Kate Moss, and just about as deep. I found the soundtrack music irritating after the first two songs, so about 10 minutes into the movie. But let me get back to the sit-com storyline. If you see it critically, there is two instances of scenes half-baked, and the unbelievable interaction of Juno and her parents. I watch these movies with the thought, would I like this protagonist as a person? Juno--no. I wouldn't be sleeping well at night if one of my sons was dating her. OMG
It doesn't surprise me one whit that Cody's Jennifer's Body stunk to high heaven. It read like a reject from a Screenwriter's contest. Racy premise, hot chick... that's it.
Methinks Cody's real goal was to Produce. That what she's doing now. I have hopes it is better suited for her. Good story isn't her bag.
But, screenwriters vote for screenwriting, and I'm guessing that they voted for the sheer brass of it all.
And I write screenplays...

I think I know which bathroom it is. Next time you visit, I can point it out to you. ;-)
You know, I like the plaque idea.

I think your suspicions about the Colonel are spot on.. I agree with your surmise. (did I put that correctly?)

I like her performance in The Secret Garden the best. Her evolution from spoiled child to self actualized young girl is inspiring. I mean, she still has her forthrightness, but she's lost the selfishness and coldness of the snobbish orphan. I start the movie hating her character, end up loving her..

That is beyond awesome! MSP has some delays this time of year, so you can actually enjoy a whole movie. I would leave early for the airport if I knew TCM would be playing in the waiting areas. But why didn't you visit me while you were in town? ;-)

Does anyone realize that the High School Musicals are simply the 1960s fluff repackaged for the American Idol generation?? Elvis' music is better, his singing is better, and even the storylines (and I don't care for all his movies) are better.

Don't normally care for a steady diet of country, but I do enjoy the wonderful deep voice of Trace Adkins. Happy birthday:

I can recommend Cocoanuts (1929)
Sort of unrelated to Marx, yet interconnected, I've just been watching Goodbye, Lenin. It's not so much about politics as it is about family, love, reconnecting and adjusting to change. It is very funny in spots, but in the end, it breaks your heart. Classic new European Cinema...

BTW, great thread title... I had to click on it.

Yes, that is a quote from Marx, (Karl not Groucho) but I wouldn't be too concerned.. Many people quote the New Testament, doesn't make them Christian...

Wow, do you think so? What part? As Olivia is creating cold cream? I don't remember that. Is there a line that gives it that slant?
I do like A Foreign Affair. Especially the singing of I-O-Way.... Another John Lund starring role. Marlene Dietrich is great in that too. Billy Wilder ...

I know Texas is always mentioned when people talk about states with bragging rights to something, but Minnesotans are an extremely proud bunch too.
