True, it's a little overwrought and tad expository. Imagine how hard it was for Ingrid to deliver it? My least favorite is also assigned to Ilsa. It starts off fine, but then dissolves to this:
>*. . .Oh, I don't know what's right any longer. You have to do the thinking for both of us, for all of us.*
ouch..
Still, it's Hollywood's Masterpiece and I can make allowances..

>Ilsa: *Yes, yes I know. Victor, whatever I do..Will you believe that I, that---*
>Victor: *You don't even have to say it, Goodnight dear..*
>Ilsa: *Goodnight.-----Victor!* (she runs up to him) *Be Careful.*

>Renault: *Why do you interfere with my little romances?*

They remind me of the 17th century gauntlets (Three Musketeers)... They would come in handy if she wanted to slap a guy silly however --she just needs to fill them with 5 lb. weights. . . LOL

She's caught in a *wink* - good one. But get those gauntlets- Aye, ie,ie,...

Hum, did anyone suspect the Southeast's theology had anything to do with toilets? Maybe you meant something else.

You guys are gluttons for punishment. When it is this cold, I seek the warmth. Summertime with Kate Hepburn and Rosanno Brazzi, or Much Ado about Nothing. Keep it light and warm..

Paul Simon. He, along Billy Joel are my troubadours. Paul started a concert series in South Africa this week in 1992. The first two are from his earlier concert in 1987.

Happy Sunday morning-
No choral this morning, but let's appreciate the prelude/postlude. The organ music is to set the mood. I want to hear Bach, and no one one does if better for me than Virgil Fox:

Hum, did glaziers use a kaleidescope in designing rosette stained glass windows?
h4. And yes, he played all from memory!
Hope your Sunday mood is infectious to the glory of God.

Hard to believe this one was banned from certain stations when it first came out.

I really liked this movie; an anti-hero look at Americana. Joanne Woodward plays a pretty slutty drunk tart married to Cameron Mitchell, right? The stresses of suburban life are pretty hard-hitting, and reminded me that my childhood in suburbia wasn't sunshine and sweet popsicles on a swing set (looking at a photo of my sister and me-circa 1958) everyday.

Because of sleep, etc, and no way currently to record, did I miss my favorite, G I Blues?

I am sorry I do not have a translation handy. It is indeed one of my favorites.

Thanks, Jake. Early Elvis is wonderful.

I have the same feeling. I think the set designer was brilliant in Streetcar... The Heartbreak Kid takes place in Miami, and I can almost smell the salty air and the mildew...
Another New Orleans set movie is Obsession (1975). That one takes place in the winter however, and cool, but no snow...
