I agree! I don't believe his TV performances later should influence what could be a fascinating look at movies of the fifties.
Thank yo for the imdb.com link. I cut/paste....
*My jaw dropped!! He has 349 screen/TV appearances noted!*

Hey, wait a minute! My son is an avid astronomer too. *In LA...* But he does drive out to do his lookin' and I'm sure Schallert did too!
I think that memory shared here is so cool and so wondrful!! I always thought of him as being a great guy, besides being Dobie Gillis' teacher, and *Patty Duke's Best Dad Ever* !!
btw- did you sell telescopes at a camera store, or was it a Discovery Channel store? Just curious.

Lafitte-
I stand corrected. You are right, it was Brahms 1st Symphony. I don't know how I could've guessed the 3rd. Thanks you for your graciousness in correcting me.
Wandering on Youtube, I found something so totally unrelated, but something that stirred such fond memories for me. It is kid's show from my childhood, and if there is any questions, I will try to explain the Minnesota milieu:

Thank you. My dad did not own a Chevrolet, but I always loved hearing her sing that. What a great video.
My older brothers remembered this one:

>*France, 1789. Thirty years later, under the reign of Louis XVI, longstanding grievances between aristocrat and peasant were about to boil over. The pot in which these troubles boiled was kindled with the firewood of oppression and injustice and heated by the flames that sucked the air from gasping peasants. Would the pot cool off, would it merely simmer, or would it boil over in the kitchen of France, to stain the floor of history forever?*

Oh, the pics were wonderful, JF. It is an amazing collection for Roz. She is a stunning woman. Enjoyed your favorite Rochester too...

Thanks for posting the Orson Welles pics. Even as he grew older and heavier, I could still see the boyish charm. Only the beard took it away. Sorry Orson, don't care for beards.
imho, he is my favorite Rochester too!

I suppose you may now be eternally angry at me for responding. But, you do have a charm about you.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday.

I am still trying to get my Max here. Have patience.
Someone mentioned young Orson Welles, and he is a favorite of mine too.

LOL! Maybe a Strega?

...SOB of the highest order. I agree with you about J.L. Warner and his attitude concerning agreements, Rick2400. I think Jack relished the upheaval he caused. I don't believe he cared if the product suffered from time to time. He could be so vindictive.

The video is very appropriate to the message.
Very interesting choice, JH.

Good choice for a Saturday night, Jake. Reminds me of the 3 rules about After Midnight:
No good comes from:
1. Eating spicy food.
2. Phone calls from ex-lovers or ex-spouses.
3. Drinking brown liquor.

I hope you find some Cohn fans out there. I find him fascinating, but I am glad I didn't have to work with him. I am a Capra fan, and I recall reading the fights Harry and Frank had at Columbia. It sounds like you have been studying up some. What Harry Cohn story do you enjoy?

All too funny, TikiSoo... When I first saw this thread, I first thought Gangsta !
Are you working on something?

That little guy is identical to my Max. He is a Miniature Schnauzer (that's why I was searching for a German name) with what are called Phantom markings. You don't see it in the photo, but the puppies have bright silver little butts too. They are too adorable.

Ha-ha. You cannot beat cannibalism for a bad guy.
Heard a good divorce joke today. Yes, my friends are trying to keep my spirits up, and it works..
>Q: *Do you know why the cannibals ate every member of the exploring party except the divorced woman?*

>A: *She was too bitter.*

I think my problem posting stems from corel. I will try another style later..

Actually, as a pup he had a very glossy black coat with stark silver markings.
