I need to hear this, just one more time.
Mr Robert Plant and his band:

Thank you, I love those.
In reply, some great driving beats:

Bobbie McFarren is the artist in residence with the Chamber Orchestra here. Cool huh?
Another sweet one from the Seventies. Look at the band, and you can't believe how bubble gum the music was:

So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void...*

I like Rita, but this morning I need the voice clear and pure. I think of Rita as whiskey, and this singer as a clear spring water:

Musicalnovelty-
I have never heard that version. Unusual, to say the least. Has sort of a scruffy production value to it too.
I've been listening to Kingston Trio, and Capitol put them on a higher plane, I guess I would say. The recordings of theirs that survived were all very polished, and nothing like a pick-up band sort of sound. They were very accomplished musicians. My favorite soloist was Bob Shane. John Stewart's gravely voice was wonderfully distinctive. Thanks for the memory, Lynn.
Dealing with a lot lately, will post later..

Lynn,
You touch my heart. I became a fan of Sam Cooke when his music was featured in a small Minnesota movie titled: The Personals.
It seems so many singers want to honor Sam Cooke in their own way. I followed up with just one song. One I love.

The Supremes do Sam Cooke...

Rod Stewart and Faces do Sam Cooke...
love the strings doing the southern twang thang..
Percy Sledge does Sam Cooke...
Finally, Sam does it best.

The original is still the best.
I didn't even get to the Animals and Righteous Brothers versions, which were pretty bland.
