  1. Tea Rooms are really pretty successful around here in FL, at least in Season, when we have many English visitors. But I thought you wrote you wouldn't spend dollars for the Starbucks, yet you want others to spend for tea? Or is it more of the 2PM-5PM Tea Room style, essentially a small meal. Cream sandwich for me...
  2. But wait, James.. That's what they're all like.. It's just fluff. Hum, was INDISCREET better at it?
  3. HA! How could I miss that one!! LOL.. I bow to the master.. Every time I hear it, I think of Novak/Holden.. that's how it should be..
  4. Like the posters, Max. Haven't seen the Brando flick, but I wonder if it is before or after my personal favorite Tennessee Williams - THE ROSE TATTOO
  5. I love THAT TOUCH OF MINK and wondered about the same thing. Also thought the subtle gay references to Gig Young's in TTOM and Hudson's in PILLOW TALK are very interesting in light of the period that Hudson was dealing with in Hollywood. What we didn't know then.
  6. Who's RupertPupkin? And I don't want this as an answer..
  7. Kate Smith, and yet you didn't go with the obvious.. Very good. I like Sinatra's version too. [Frank Sinatra|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Q1zDFRtC4]
  8. I like the Little Rascals theme.. Never knew the title, I must have listened to it hundreds of times. And, Moonlight Becomes You is a favorite! Thanks for the great link! Another one from Bing- [sir Bingle|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1nTIPGdM3g] [the Chairman of the Board|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CiizL8Vfu8] [Glenn Miller Orchestra|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n92ATE3IgIs]
  9. It seems the fun about science fiction has gone out of life since that English farmer explained how he created the crop circles. :-(
  10. And I can see the Moon rise from my balcony.. Some Moon Music. [Laurel and Hardy|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72qZZapTHFo] [Creedance Clearwater Revival|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieuT4p2rCOs] [The Marcels|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4oSTyjZCfE] [Michael Buble|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBCJWJXeFzk] I am sure you can think of more..
  11. h4. Can you guess the title? Well, I was suckered in by the hype... and I looked like the mother of those in attendance, I thought the story line pretty one-dimensional (I guess it helps to be emotionally 14-15 yrs old). AND, I so wished I'd seen Mirror, Mirror.. Edited by: casablancalover on Apr 3, 2012 8:24 PM, for she forgot her lead-in headline.. my bad.
  12. >Sepiatone wrote: I recently viewed a program, hosted by Morgan Freeman, that discussed the possibility of life on other planets. Indeed, it's always seemed to me that one would have to be steeped and duped in and by Earthbound religion to think we're all there is. But the best all the scientists they've tapped for this program could say was that we can only speculate. Are there beings from another far off planet in some other galaxy that possess the technology to visit Earth? Maybe. Who's to say? Quite possibly, they're on their planet speculating the same thing. Might be the nearest planet with similar intelligent life is no further along in their technology than we've had in the 1880's. At any rate, it's interesting conversation fuel. I contend there is life on other planets, they have already visited us, what they found was very disappointing to them and they're not coming back.
  13. It is as if he earned his pay by how brief he could deliver it.. Delightful. You know, he would have made a terrific "tweet" er...
  14. Scottman- Is it a lovely morning yet on the West Coast? I am in SWFL, and so its a bit like the West Coast, but it is truly filled with some real cranks and more than it fair share of wingnuts. In spite of what other's may say, the crazies are here, sporting sidearms, with mullets and a twang. It's a great place to write comedy. Peace reigns here again; the "snowbirds" for the most part have returned home up north and we can enjoy our Spring. Good morning! [The Beatles|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6tV11acSRk]
  15. THE BIG SLEEP review was unforgettable, except we won't remember to be that erudite on our own!
  16. I am with you about THE CLOCK. I thought she was terrific in it, very believable character, though the story itself demands maximum suspension of disbelief.
  17. Extra point Sprocket_Man for the mention of Edgar Cayce. Blast from the past.
  18. The leap of death is used for it's shock value.. Suddenly, they're not there anymore. Fast, tidy end. Not a lot of trouble for the effects people either, just some sugar glass, or a ledge 3ft. from the ground. If you're paying attention, you can spot the ledges on the back lots at the studios. I think it was at Paramount a guide showed our group one. Used early in story, like Mildred Pierce, and it's used to give background or entire movie in flashback. Or if they do jump, it sets the tone for the survivors to tell the story and how it relates. The way you folks relate it, it sounds like TWBM ran out production budget..
  19. Darn, went out to a totally forgettable movie and missed it..
  20. It wouldn't be Geisha Boy. Actually, I forgot several.. It Happened One Night Local Hero Brassed Off The Full Monty Miss Marple Series (Margaret Rutherford) Jacque Tati's Mon Oncle Amelie Four Weddings and a Funeral My Best Friend's Wedding The Imposters (1998) Sleepless in Seattle the five limit... why just five?
