I hate to use the word stupid, but it seems to be the only one that applies. The great masses, the moron millions. Well, there are a few of us unwilling to troop along... a few of us who are clever enough to see that there's much more to be done than just live small complacent lives, a few of us in america who desire a more profitable type of government. When you think about it, Mr. Kane, the competence of totalitarian nations is much higher than ours. They get things done.*

I'm like that too! With minor adjustments (I work two jobs, each one with different clothing requirements, don't own a pet, but I have civic meetings that call for different clothes and footwear) I have many clothing changes in the day.

    But I have one more..

    8. Special wardrobe for Blogging-Forum posting.

I am sure it will change when my computer gets a online cam.. ;)

  3. What a gentleman. Thank you, Gus, for posting.

I was down tonight.. Friends just called to invite me out and cheer me up. Heading out to nice wine bar downtown and we will let the "evening wore on..." -that's from Harvey

I still have problems like everyone, but it is so nicer to be with friends.

  5. Pour vous, TikiSoo-

    >*A fellow will remember a lot of things you wouldn't think he'd remember. You take me. One day, back in 1896, I was crossing over to Jersey on the ferry, and as we pulled out, there was another ferry pulling in, and on it there was a girl waiting to get off. A white dress she had on. She was carrying a white parasol. I only saw her for one second. She didn't see me at all, but I'll bet a month hasn't gone by since that I haven't thought of that girl.*

The comment made was about in reference to friends or family, I always thought. You need to remember the attitude about servants with the very wealthy. If you don't notice them doing their job, they're good servants. Hum, Raymond (Paul Stewart) isn't a sentimental guy, is he? Well, it could be the way Kane treated him. But then, Raymond reference to Kane's final words sounded as if he been reading tabloids about the last moments as well.

  7. The snow globe brings him the sudden calm when he's overwhelmed smashing apart Susan's room. Just wanting to reinforce the point. It is a moment where Kane is shown what is it all about.

We notice the snow globe in her jig-saw puzzle apartment of detail. Kane scenes with the first Mrs. Kane (Emily) are sort of sparse, suggesting not much going on between them, once they finally got to know each other..

Susan was "a cross section of the American Public". Susan was a dalliance, but she was kind and flattering to the newspaperman. Kane married her because he had to, not because he wanted to. Kane kept giving her talents she didn't possess.

The only certainty I have is what I feel in my own heart.

Where or when of anything else is up for debate.

It is enough to know that I love it, and I will pass the word around that it should be viewed for it is an essential.. Even if one must watch it somewhere else.

It's a pity then, that it hasn't been shown here. TCM's loss.
