For color films I'd say Ozu's "Floating Weeds". But then there's always "Black Narcissus", "Peeping Tom", Kurosawa's "Dreams", "Juliet of the Spirits", "The Fearless Vampire Killers", and "Hero".
For B&W it would have to be Cocteau's "Beauty & the Beast." OR "Orpheus", "Two Daughters", "Wild Strawberries", "Children of Paradise", "Nights of Cabiria", "8&1/2", "Red Beard", "Ashes & Diamonds", &
"Citizen Kane"
However, the most all-around "beautiful" movie ever made has got to be HAROLD AND MAUDE !!!
