  3. I have been racking(wracking ?) my brain for years, and still cant find title of WWII movie I saw as a Kid. 1. approximate year of film is 1959 or earlier 2. I remember towards the start of movie, there was a group of soldiers/marines beaching at night/early dawn by a rubber raft. 3. one of the soldiers had to be continuously told to wear his helmet; possibly a green officer. 4. battles were few, as I remember. 5. at the end of the movie, the green soldier (who'd had trouble remembering to wear helmet) and his Squad Sergeant, I believe, rendezvoused (sp?) with this female Frenchwoman in a small hut. 6. after delivering/getting espionage info, the two soldiers walked outside to smoke, and suddenly an image of hand holding pistol came through the window and shot the officer in the back of his head; killed em of course. 7. the squad sergeant, I believe, then entered hut again, and revenged his friend being killed. 8. Last scene of the movie was of the one carrying his dead buddy back to the squad and saying, I TOLD him to wear his helmet. 9. this is my first posting and would appreciate any information. Thank you Horsen T
