For nearly 50 years I have been hoping to the find the title of a 1940's vintage movie with the following scenario:

 

Two sisters fall in love with the same man ... Man goes overseas and writes letter to sister A , asking her to come over and marry him ... Sister B intercepts man's letter ... deceives her sister ... and takes the voyage in place of her sister ... Man is obviously disappointed by the supposed "mixup," but ends up falling in love and marrying her anyway ... Sister A, meanwhile, is devastated ... cries in seaside cave ... Tide comes in and forces her to climb through cave opening and to her surpise, a nunnery on top ... she joins nunnery.
