  1. Thank-You so much! I appreciate you taking the time to find the article... I'd really like to see this...so I immediately looked here on the site... and TCM has it listed. Do you think that means they have it in their catalog? I'm gonna request in hopes they can air it. Thanx again!
  2. There was an interview on TCM with Bill Murray...and he talked about a silent film he saw and liked. Does anyone remember the name of that silent film? Thanx
  3. That was FAST! And correct! Thank-You so much! I guess I couldn't remember it was Robert Young because he doesn't usually play the 'bad' guy. Thanks again for the speedy answer...
  4. Not only can I not remember the title... I don't remember who starred in the movie either. So...does anyone recognize this story... (I hope I'm not getting 2 movies mixed up lol)... A man meets up with a woman every week at a cafe. At first I think it had to do with work...but she falls for him. They both like boats...and talk about sailing. He's either married...or marries another woman. He and his wife move to another state. So he no longer sees the 'boat' girl. He gets a job he doesn't like. I think he's working for his father in-law. His wife buys a house out in the country...like
  5. WoW...Thanx for the preview! Although...now I'm more confused than ever...lol Everything seems to 'fit' my description...but this isn't necessarily 'familiar' to me. lol My quest for the title started because...I saw the film only once a few years ago...and I was thinking of some requests the other day...and wanted to request this one...but coudn't think of the title...or even recall the stars... that's why I asked for you guys help. But I don't remember Half this stuff...execution...poison! How'd I miss THAT! lol Quote: " An espionage drama set in the early 20th century,
  6. fixin2quilt ...I think you could be Right! Marysara ...you were right all along! I was ToTally off yesterday...the 40s...Jewish guy... NO Barbara...lol ...but after thinkin' about it more...the description of Ever in My Heart DOES seem to fit. Thank-you both... I really wish TCM would show it NOW...lol...so I could see if indeed that IS the film... But at least now I have a title to request...and a title to watch for on the monthly schedule... Thanx!
  7. Ahhh...Thank-you for trying...but that's not it either. I think the film is either not well known...or my description is just too vague...lol The film pretty much takes place in the couple's house. She's fair ...light hair...and has a sweet demeanor. He's kinda like a cross between Rossano Brazzi & Paul Henreid...that is IF my memories are right. (I thing he might build something to sell...like birdhouses or cuckoo clocks...or maybe they sell antiques...I can't remember) The story is not really about the war so much...as the affect it has on the couple and their son. At f
  8. Ahhh ...Thanx SO much for your responses...but No...those are not the movie. This film didn't star a big star like Bette Davis or Barbara Stanwyck. If it starred a big star...they weren't a big star 'to me'....and I know pretty much all the stars...since I love old films...(love ALL films). The woman was pretty and petite-ish... seems to me she looked kinda like a Sonja Henie almost...(although it wasn't Sonja because this was a drama)...and the man seemed a little older than her... and maybe had gray-ish hair....(although the film was probably in black & white). I do hope Som
  9. This is a film from probably the 40s. I really don't have the best description...but hopefully someone will recognize this. There's a young woman who marries a man...and all is well. In fact I think the man even wins some 'Man of the Year' award. But the war breaks out...and he must be Jewish...because people start shunning him... and he has less and less work...so the family is struggling. I think the husband keeps trying to convince his wife to go stay with her family...maybe her sister. I think they might have a young son...that she would of course take with her. It seems to
  10. David Brenner and Barbra Streisand definitely look like brother-N-sister! Here's a look-a-like... Character actor Mark Harelik. He's had ToNs of little bit parts on LoTs of shows. He has always reminded me of Tom Selleck...especially with those same dimples. He should totally play Tom's brother on something. They even sound just a like... with that same kinda-scratchy voice... And a silly one... Sarah Palin and Peggy Hill...from King of the Hill... lol
  11. Here's a couple close matches... Shirley MacLaine and Simone Signoret... Fanny Ardant and Ava Gardner
  12. I was watching a Sandra Dee film...and I remember the first time I saw Christina Milian... and how something about her reminded me of Sandra...(which may seem strange...lol) But something about her does...
  13. hi... Here's Alan Greenspan and Woody Allen... I see ya'll were talkin' about Tina Fey and Sarah Palin...they DO match. Too bad Tina isn't on SNL anymore...(or IS she...I know she's on 30 Rock these days) I also thought...(although Sarah doesn't match as closely as with Tina)... I thought Sarah also reminds me of Nia Vardalos...from My Big Fat Greek Wedding... Message was edited by: chatterbox
  14. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the Penn/Mitchum similarity. Scsu...I meant to mention how much your Jean Willes and Ava Gardner pix look-a-like! They could be the same person! I don't have any that are exact matches like that...but here's a few more that remind me of each other... Judy Garland and Liv Tyler... Tom Conway (who played The Falcon...and was George Sanders brother)...and Erroll Flynn... Angela Lansbury and Nicole Kidman... Kay Kendall and Sean Young... These two may not look a like...but there's just something about 'e
  15. Thank-You Bronxgirl! I have more... although some may be a bit of a stretch...lol... but I still see a similarity... Like... Sean Penn and Robert Mitchum... Robert Montogmery and Robert Young... Benicio Deltoro and Brad Pitt... Russell Crowe and Benjamin McKenzie (The OC) Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney... A little silliness... lol W C Fields and Bill Clinton...
