Classic Movies vs Modern Movies- why we prefer Older movies
goldenerakid replied to dsclassic's topic in General Discussions
Hello a brownfan once again: I just had to comment that I certainly agree with you re my dancing in LITTLE BIG SHOT. It was a real dud of a dance but on the other hand ( not that I would have EVER been the dancer that my friend Shirley Temple was) if it comes on again on TCM give a look to a beautiful technicolor print of a short that I did called THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD. I do a precision military tap dance with the fabulous Busby Berkeley girls backing me up which I think you may find more acceptable than the poor example in LITTLE BIG SHOT. In regards to getting the worst songwriters at WB I do have to disagree with you. Sorry. How can you beat the wonderous talents of Harburg and Arlen??? They wrote the songs for THE SINGING KID which co-starred me with AL JOLSON and to this day people love the song that he and I did together called " YOU'RE THE CURE FOR WHAT AILS ME" written by these two genuises who two years later went on to write the songs for my friend Judy Garlands unforgetable THE WIZARD OF OZ!! You'll read it all in my firstbook MY FIFTEEN MINUTES and much more. Blessings Sybil Jason -

Yes Cascabel: I really am Sybil Jason and I thank you for saying you will be reading both my books. I think somewhere in either one of them you will read about your very favorite icon and what they were REALLY like and I think you'll be surprised at some of them. Unlike my contemporaries I adored every single second of my career and as an adult I have no hangups due to the loving guidance of my older sister Anita. I have received so many lovely emails and letters from some of my readers re their favorite "mindblowing" chapters and two of the most commented on are my chapters on the man that was my bodyguard for a short while...the REAL Eliot Ness and the story of Marilyn Monroe before she was Marilyn Monroe!! There are over 100 rare pictures that go with my first book and many in my second one. Your best bet to order them is from my publisher bearmanormedia.com or if you wish, Amazon. If I am in your neck of the woods I will certainly let you know. Blessings to you and yours Sybil Jason -

Hello Cascabel: I thank you so very much for your much appreciated comments about my part in LITTLE BIG SHOT. I have just sent a similar thank you to abrownfan and suggested that you read my autobiography MY 15 MINUTES which...lucky me for a neophyte author...was judged best autobiography of 2005 by Classic Images magazine and also got a rave review from Hollywood historian Leonard Maltin. Every chapter is dedicated to personal stories of the icons that I either co-starred with or just knew very well and these includes, amongst many others along with over 100 rare pictures, Errol Flynn, Judy Garland,Lana Turner,Humphrey Bogart,Al Jolson,Shirley Temple ad infinitum. Due to requests for another book from me..voila..October 1st FIVE MINUTES more will be available but I do suggest you read MY FIFTEN MINUTES first. Thank you so very much for your lovely comments. They mean a lot. Blessings to you and yours Sybil Jason -

Hello abrownfan: Thank you so much for the very nice compliments about my abilities as Warner Bros first child star under long term contract. Please do read my autobiography MY 15 MINUTES that was judged best autobiography of 2005 and also got a rave review from Hollywood historian Leonard Maltin. ( Lucky me for a neophyte author!) You will be surprised to find out I made quite a few more movies than what you listed and in regards to THE LITTLE PRINCESS (1939 Fox) although it is true that I didn't star in this movie and just supported Shirley in the cast ( read all about the REAL story in my book) I was VERY proud that I won the NYcritics/Hollywood Reporter Award for best suporting actress of 1939. Because of requests for a second book from me...voila...come October the 1st. FIVE MINUTES MORE will be available but I do suggest that you read MY 15 MINUTES first. Once more...thank you so much for your compliments. It is much appreciated. Blessings to you and yours Sybil Jason
