  1. Al The movie did was tell it as it is. if any one as ever spoken to a bank manager he knows they are Just like the one in the movie and i dont mean the nice Kind one -lo

Also it still Kind of true to day about vets; and the US seems to have far more of there fare share, I have been in the Us for Five years ( I from England and i have never seen to many people with there legs and limbs generally missing, having to wheel about in their chairs and some don’t even have that. Its kind of surreal. But i have great respect for the fact they did it for love of country home and hearth; And freedom for the oppressed, its not their fault if they have been lied to by power hungry Politicians.

  2. Absolutely agree when I first watched it left me feeling threatened that was when i was a teen -lol how ever still loved Computers, I just realized that they need to be treated with respect Just like the atom bomb.

What man still thinks is that when they finally build an Intelligent sentient computer that they will be creating a slave, however they are very mistaken, they would have basically made themselves redundant and marked the beginning of the end of mans dominance on the earth.

Lets hope that we learn how to code emotions like compassion pity and yes even Love

Same applys to Genetic engineering and Human cloning.

  3. wathced it this morning: Graet movie, not suprising simce Marlond Brando was a demi god. and now i assume is a God

However my fav scene is The cab scene and the " I could of been a conteder dilaouge" still i felt sorry for his brother, who knew letting his brother live would seal is ultimate dimise: death. Heck i always liked Rod Steiger a great actor

  4. Okay lets put this one to bed. I realize that that i can edit, and from all the circumspection I gatherer there is no delete function or no one willing to tell how to do it :). OK i accept that.

Ir really doesn’t matter any more any way since they both cause the same thing usually a post that says deleted in the body of text.

I only wanted to kind get rid of a potential double post situation.

any how thanks for the help and kind words. i have a working solution and shall implement that.

  5. Okay. Its just common practice on other boards to delete posts that you have had second thoughts about. my deleting a post as noting to do about expunging any trace of any thing, simply a quick way of getting rid of a error as i explained.

  6. I agree singing in the rain highly overrated, my favs are South pacific, West Side Story, My fair lady. Clever catchy lyrics and melodies.

Busby Berkley stuff like gold diggers and such ( not sure if his movies are considered musicals).

but besides that not a fan of the genre.

Oh on a side not does Gone with the wind have any songs, singing in it I say Catagorically no, GF says Yes: how wrong can she be.

She wont believe me but may be she will believe you,

  7. Gosh I had to smile, I am not running away, I created a post that became a wall of text because of the post duddad. Actually I discovered if I preview the post it takes out the paragraphing, creating a wall of a text (a internet no-no), so I wanted to delete that one post. And post it again, then there would be no double post.

I have no intention of leaving this fine forum, I really like most of you, and think you chaps rather intelligent and articulate and fun.

I just wanted to know how to delete a post for future reference.

Having said that your responses of concern as left me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside, Thanks :)

  8. Hobson’s choice to see John mills and Charles Laughton Mixing it up would wonderful a real; British Classic right there.

Oh and there is: "The devil rides out" with both Peter cousin and Christopher Lee. My fav horror movie, from the days of hammer horror: a British production company that completely owned British horror up till the 70s.

    Hope it helps

Ps still adoring thet Lovely picture you posted of garbo, which i down loaded.

Now when i see your name thats what i think you look like :)

  10. I suppose I am damned if i do and I am damned if I don’t respond to the accusations that i am posting under different names.

So I say to the board : It is really quite laughable, I AM NOT!

Also it must seem quite offensive to the people whose post have been accredited to me.

The amount of paranoia and insecurity that must fester in an individual to draw such a conclusion just because a few people agree with me is beyond absurd and makes the person making such accusations seem quite off balanced. I have already explained what as lead me to joining the board and even what lead to me creating the title of my post. Lets hope thats the end of it

  11. Let me Clare up the rational behind the title of my post.

    1) Being movie and drama lovers I would assume it would be obvious. Its titled for Dramatic effect , to capture attention, and to be remembered, Just like good movie titles. Just like in the movie world, with sea of titles competing to capture peoples attention, its important that the title grabs the audiences attention on a message board.

And rather than a literal interpretation it show be seen as evocative of a feeling. So basically I was being dramatic; some obviously see it as over dramatic,. However the title is not the important point but the message it fronts is. I hope that clears it up.

    2) It was not meant to offend or irritate (ie Trol), but simply get your attention; and though some of you see it as an Oscar month issue and thus the title should reflect that. I see it as a general TCM issue and thus composed my title in that regard.

Any way I still believe there should not be any Modern movies on TCM, they should just make the most of their core product.

It’s like a classic music station playing a little Heavy metal: Absurd and offensive to its core audience.

Sorry if you see a wall of Text , for some reason the post dudad is not seeing my Paragraphing :(

  12. Your Honesty and sincerity can not be questioned, and your analysis I believe to be spot on.

I shall wear the Title Chicken little proudly

I do not mind dissenting views either, I welcome them it is a sign of healthy group striving for the truth, something that is eternally shrouded and revealed only in varying degrees.

I have read some of your post and it is sad that their recent scheduling is driving us both away from TCM. Having said that, I do still watch when I like what there showing. Today I espacialy enjoyed Mutiny on the Bounty with Charles Laughton and Clark Gable; I take every opportunity to watch Charles Laughton, he was a fantastic character and lead actor. A movie that I long to see a again staring Charles Laughton is a British classic he stared in Called:” Hobson’s choice”, with the late and great John mills. I do not known if TCM as ever shown it.
