laffite,
"you say there is a way to blank them out, how?"
Don't know how to do screencaps, but just go to offending post's signature & mouse to the upper right of same and an 'X' will appear, click that & poof it's gone !!
If the 'signature' is REALLY big, you may have to go to the poster's profile page & click 'ignore signature' option.
Maybe someone more computer-saavy can explain this better
Better yet, from scsu1975:
"I still see it when I click on my screen name in the upper right corner of the page (next to the notifications). There is a menu for Manage Ignore Preferences."
(just click the arrow between your name & sign out)
WOO-HOO!

okay then, we could call John Huston to ask him to direct again before acting in Tentacles
or Sophia Coppola to try directing before acting in Godfather 3

from LHF: "and I REALLY miss being able to respond DIRECTLY to someone, to either tell them I noticed what they wrote and liked or disagreed with it or have something to add."
Gotta agree there, the 'whole quote' thing is kind of a pain.
You have to copy/paste (like I did here) or do alot editing to find the statement you're referring to.
Hate quoting whole posts. Seems like a lot of wasted space when going through threads.
& as long as we're bellyaching, does anyone find
LARGE signature threads ANNOYING?
(though, fortunately, there are ways to blank them out, so no big deal)
don't mean to offend anyone

maybe Fall of the House of Usher ??

Do you think you should click the "like" button on your own posts? It seems unnecessary, because why wouldn't you like what you posted already without the extraneous "like."
Just curious, I guess.
GOOD HEAVENS, NO !
Therein lies madness....
(though strangely I have seen it done for some reason)

-just like it 'cuz it saves time & space from alot of "I agree, Right On, Well said & Good Points"

but it appears there's some kind of daily 'quota', which doesn't make much sense....whatever

slaytonf, used up my 'like' quota

This was R. Attenborough's first directing effort & I thought he did a great job with such an elaborate musical w/so many stars.
"On multiple occasions, Attenborough would attribute his decision to jump into directing to advice he received from none other than David Lean: "Don't direct just because you want to direct. Direct the project so that it means so much to you that you'll die if you don't do it."

Was it Henry Fonda for his role in "Immortal Sergeant? He served in the Navy but maybe this incident happened before his actual yrs of service. ??
Yup & yup all the way.
Nice work, Edythe

your turn now....

If anyone caught Oh! What A Lovely War last night, the first few minutes dramatized the most concise explanation for the beginning of that war as I've ever seen. Wish they'd aired this at the start of the series.
Loved the movie BTW.
& can't say I saw alot of Clark's intros (had seen most of the movies before), but from what I saw I was hoping to hear more historical perspective. But this isn't PBS.
Any impressions of Gen. Clark?

(sorry to jump in here, KD can correct me if I'm wrong)
but I think he created 2 easy threads just to encourage more participation in the games/trivia section.
Nothin' wrong with that
