  1. First look: Anti-Trump Republican video mocks "MAGA Church" "MAGA Church," the first digital video from the Lincoln Project, a group of anti-Trump Republicans, takes aim at President Trump's standing with evangelical voters —interspersing clips of him talking about faith with videos of him speaking crudely. Why it matters: Trump has recently taken steps to shore up his evangelical base after an editorial in Christianity Today, a magazine founded by the late Rev. Billy Graham, attacked his "gross immorality and ethical incompetence." His latest move was an "Evangelicals for Trump" event last weekend at one of the largest Latino evangelical churches in Miami. The state of play: In the video, the group warns evangelicals to "beware of false prophets." "IF THIS IS THE BEST AMERICAN CHRISTIANS CAN DO," it says, "THEN GOD help us all."......... https://www.axios.com/lincoln-project-donald-trump-evangelical-voters-f6cfd864-cc1f-4b6c-b881-690151c95dd7.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=twsocialshare&utm_campaign=organic
  2. Lincoln Project Releases First Anti-Trump Video: ‘MAGA Church’ "..........For those within the Republican Party who find themselves either unimpressed or outraged at President Trump, there is The Lincoln Project: An organization dedicated to providing a space for conservative, anti-Trump voices. Their latest concerns come as a number of evangelical leaders have recently heaped praise on the President. The group, co-founded by Rick Wilson, a “Never Trump” leader who authored a book comparing Trump to the devil, and John Weaver, a strategist for John Kasich’s 2016 run, who said evangelical leaders — like Paula White-Cain, Trump’s personal pastor and faith adviser in the White House — who support Trump “are trying to transform America into their greedy image,” calling them “false prophets,” “professional grifters” and “cult makers.”........ https://thewashingtonsentinel.com/lincoln-project-releases-first-anti-trump-video-maga-church/
  3. Fri., 1-10 for Underground.......... (times ET) 2:00 AM Multiple Maniacs ( 1970) Three determined women, Divine, Cookie and Mink Stole, set out to solve the Sharon Tate murders. Dir: John Waters Cast: Divine , David Lochary , Mary Vivian Pearce . BW- 97 mins, CC, Lou Cedrone wrote: "Multiple Maniacs is very smelly, save for a moment here and there when the Waters humor is apparent. And humor he has. It's just a shame he has chosen to ignore that for the brutality which is not, as he and his audiences may think, a gas."[9] In 1981, Geoffrey Himes, also of The Baltimore Sun referred to the film as "thoroughly disgusting" yet "also quite funny at times."[10] The film holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is Waters' highest-rated film. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_Maniacs#Critical_response 3:45 AM Female Trouble ( 1975) A fictitious biography of Dawn Davenport, a headline-seeking criminal. 6. Ben Collins @oneunderscore__ · 19h Run back Facebook did today. They bought a story in a publication, pretended it wasn’t sponsored, their COO posted it, then when they got caught, they denied knowing anything about it. And what was that ad/story about? Their commitment to stopping disinformation. Incredible. --------------------------------------------------------- The Mystery of Teen Vogue’s Disappearing Facebook Article The online magazine deleted a glowing story about Facebook after questions were raised about whether it was an ad. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/08/business/media/teen-vogue-facebook.html

  8. @SethAbramson · 16h One of the only things McConnell *isn't* lying about is that this impeachment is extraordinary. It *is* extraordinary, though not—unsurprisingly, given that McConnell is a liar, scoundrel, and man who should never be trusted by anyone in his field again—in the way McConnell says. This impeachment is extraordinary because it involves national security. And because it comes late in a first term, near an election. And because the president has illegally blocked all documents and witnesses in contravention of law—and clogged up the courts so cases can't move. This impeachment is extraordinary because new inculpatory evidence emerges daily. And because it's not the fifth but roughly the fiftieth scandal of the most scandal-ridden presidency in U.S. history. And because the GOP carefully destroyed bipartisanship over the last 20+ years...... https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/1215125839614021635

  10. Ben Rhodes @brhodes · 6h I’m guessing that if Iran announced it wasn’t abiding by JCPOA limits, the counter ISIS mission was suspended, the Iraqi parliament voted to expel US forces, and Iran fired off ballistic missiles at US bases, no one would say Obama had a WIN
  11. David Jolly @DavidJollyFL Rand Paul just now accuses Lindsey Graham of putting on a "fake drape of patriotism" after Graham suggests Paul's demand for a War Powers debate empowers the enemy.
