Wasn't there supposed to have been a Ritz Brothers set released this year as well as some of the series films like Torchy Blaine, Andy Hardy etc..?
-
The site tvshowsondvd.com has occasionally had a link that dealt with the problems consumers were having with any dvd that came in a scanevo box- like the Lewis/Martin set 1 and the Andy Griiffth Show tv series sets. Can anyone tell me if the new Abbott and Costello Box set uses the scanevo containers? From what I've seen they do look like them and if so, I'll be quick to put the DVDs in another type of container.

Very much so! Also like June Haver a lot too. -

I'd say "Song of the Islands!" Not much of a stretch there! -
You have great taste, Laura! I'd like to see all of those-with my favorite being Song of the Islands.
-
I'd say: Song of the Islands The Dolly Sisters Look for the SIlver Lining Three Little Girls in Blue Tin Pan Alley Down Argentine Way Moon Over Miami Pin Up Girl Footlight Serenade and I'll "cheat" by saying anything with Judy Garland in it!
-
I'm sorry to hear the Alice Faye set has been delayed.
-
I agree. Her posts are always welcome!

That would be great. I've always been crazy about Gloria De Haven in Broadway R.

Thanks. That is good news. I wish MGM's Thousands Cheer would be released. It was full of stars as well!
-
Oh, and two more- Little Nellie Kelly and Tin Pan Alley!
-
Good question! I'd say: Diamond Horseshoe, Song of the Islands, Footlight Serenade, Summer Holiday, Look for the Silver Lining, Daughter of Rosie O'Grady, and almost any of June Haver's movies.

The Carmen Miranda Collection Release Date: June 17th, 2008

I e-mailed Drew Casper to see if he could offer any info. on a second Betty Grable set but he replied today, "they haven't asked me yet" to my question "will you be providing any commentaries for a second set?" I wonder if that means there won't be a set or only that the Professor won't be a part of it? -
Thanks so much! You always have great scoops! I wonder if there is any chance the Ritz set will contain either of their remaining 2 films with Alice Faye- Sing Baby SIng and You Can't Have Everything?
