  2. hula, i love Barbara Stanywck, although i think Lizabeth Scott out did her in 'The Strange Live of Martha Ivers'. Have you seen 'When a Stranger Calls'? Barbara Stanwyck, Burt Lancaster. Absolutely Amazing!! Who plays in 'The Big Valley'?
  3. Harper Lee loosely based this book on the people in her life. Harper Lee really did write it.
  4. i actually have belonged to these forums for about two years. i just wanted to change my user name. I know there are many other 'to kill a mockingbird' threads. i have to do a lot of research on pulitzer prizes and Harper Lee's "to kill a mockingbird" was my favorite. i wanted to start my own thread to see what replies the i would receive. yes, this movie is great. this movie is so important to just everyday life. it shows how horrible racial discrimination was and still is. Thank you for your interest.
  5. After reading Harper Lee's award winning novel, i was even more impressed with the movie. I'm a huge fan. Anybody feel the same? "To Kill A Mockingbird" is so meaningful. Scout Finch is hilarious, Gregory Peck does an incredible job as Atticus Finch. I can't rave about this movie enough. Reply to this thread. I wanna know who likes it, who hates it, and who gets what out of it? If you haven't seen it you are really missing out on this amazing film. -respecttheclassics
  6. I LOVE "you've got mail", it's one of my all time favorites. I also love "shop around the corner", but i would rather watch you've got mail. margaret sullavan completely ruins shop around the corner for me. i cannot watch ANY of her movies without being in constant pain. No offense to all the sullavan fans out there! i find nothing appealing about her, and i really don't think she can act. Anyhow "shop around the corner" is a wonderful classic, even though the prauge setting really didn't make sense. If you can stand margaret sullavan, this movie is the best!
  7. yeah, lizabeth scott never got much screen credit for any of her work. i always thought she was a great actress. in a weird way she always reminded me of lauren bacall. she was oddly pretty. i've only seen a couple of her movies. if you know any other good movies with her in them let me know.
