  1. I, too, recorded it, but haven't watched it yet.
  2. Most of what I remember. They provide more dialog for the female triangle and character development.
  3. I Love Trouble was a nice little noir. The print was terrible though. (Public domain?) I'd never seen it before. Great cast. (particularly the females) Raymond Burr in a small part.
  4. Frrom what I saw the concert scene was the biggest cut. Not in the film at all. The rest seemed to be bits trimmed from other scenes, mostly in the first half of the film.
  5. I miss John Waters. He hasn't made a film in many years. I guess he's retired and living on his Hairspray residuals (the musical) It made him rich. I remember his comments some years ago, that it was hard to come up with material because the public wasn't shocked anymore. He'd become almost mainstream.
  6. LOL! I forgot about her musical numbers. Even so I was struck at the time and still am about the nomination.
  7. I remember that store set in Beaches, but nothing else that was noteworthy.......
  8. Yeah, New Line was not a Hollywood major and I assume those in the set design field voted for people they knew when they nominated people. Is New Line even still around? I think there were several "Lines" Wasn't there a Fine Line too? I know one went belly up. Didnt Weinstein take over one of them? I never understood the nomination for Beaches.
  9. This film sounds interesting. I've never seen Dorothy Gish in a sound film. Wonder how big her part is?
  10. They seem few and far between (judging by Fox News and NewsMax) And of course, by posters in Off Topics here!
  11. Not a major studio release, probably. If there'd been a best wig and make up category back then, SHOULD have! (not sure when that started)
  12. I do eat seafood sometimes. But, yeah, no land meat since my mid 20s.........I don't really miss it (not into cooking that much) Sometimes I get a yen for a hamburger, but it passes. LOL.
  13. There are many people here who dont care about the show being revived with the same movies shown over and over again on TCM. Different co-host covering the same ground over and over again. If you care, fine. I don't.
  14. Grant Withers was Loretta Young's first husband. Think it was annulled.
