Why don't the Oscars get rid of the choice ballots. I think you are supposed to list your first, second and third choices. And they are weighted. So its possible for 2nd place choice to surpass a first choice if it gets enough 2nd vote choices (maybe even a third choice) It's impossible to say how often this happens. Just pick ONE for each category!!!

Apparently Judi Dench is a jealous old cow.

Very weird. Kenda is finally off, (never could stand him!) but I saw he was hosting something else recently. Can't get rid of these people! Yeah are constant commercials for Paula, but nothing for any of their other shows. She must own a piece of the network or something. The cases on her show are good, but I can't stand her as the host! You'd think she'd run out of cases. She had her 300th episode earlier this year. -

I don't even remember that one! LOL. -
I watched a little, recorded the rest. Then FF'd later. All I can say is FRANCES MCDORMAND AGAIN?????? 3 times now! I guess the 2 black actresses cancelled each other out. And Boseman not winning was a huge upset. Have seen neither performance, but he won all the previous awards and thought he was a shoo in. Glenn losing was a foregone conclusion A weird looking show. Why couldnt they just SAY the nominees without all the pretentious lead ins? (Laura Dern). A weird show (what I saw) and am sure the ratings will be in the basement!!!

HATE PAULA. Wont watch her show, but the network apparently loves her. she's been on probably 7 or 8 years now. Longer than any other show. I can't even remember Fear Thy Neighbor last week. Oh, I remember now. That was sad. Another old geezer losing it!. -
Night Must Fall (1937). Robert Montgomery's best performance.

Plus that make up he wore. I would've called AAA. -

Yeah, the final 10 mins or so was the best part of the movie. I felt sorry for Mona as she wasn't a b-tch like DAME May was, more a dotty old lady. LOL. The tire changing scene was hard to believe! (like a lot of details in the movie!) -

He and his daughter, Elisabeth, weren't close and somewhat estranged from what I've read. -

I didn't realize she was pregnant in the play. Would make sense they would've taken that out for the film. The remake relies on more shock value and there's a lot of cuts that disrupt the narrative flow. The part with Hampshire on the scooter comes out of nowhere and I wouldnt be surprised if it came from another part of the film. The charm and wit of the original (and setting) is lost in the remake. I found the music annoying too. It's hard to understand why Hampshire would fall for Finney in this version. In the original Russell is torn between her attraction and revulsion towards the character. In this one Hampshire falls with little build up or reason for it. Her character isn't developed enough compared to Russell's. It's never really explained why she's holed up with dear old mum. Between engagements? -

There is something similar looking in the remake too! I only noticed it near the end. I finished watching it. .The ending is more dramatic than the original, that's about the only thing good about it. Overall I'd give it a C. Poor Mona, I felt sympathy for her as she wasn't a B-tch like Dame May was. I wont have to wait around for TCM to show it now. I don't like watching films on Youtube, but the film wasnt that great so...... -
