Yeah, but 70 isn't as noteworthy as 50 or 75.

Likely never especially since Disney acquired Fox.
Yes, but they could come up with a decent overview WITHOUT Fox. They just aren't interested!

I was reading that Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are filming "Being the Ricardos." Is there some Lucy anniversary coming up or is it just a coincidence that TCM is also having a Lucy tribute in October? Not sure when the movie is coming out but the casting seems ... interesting.
Media blitz! LOL.

I wouldn't think so. TCM's podcasts involve research and interviews. It seems like the time between the 1st season (Peter Bogdonavich) and the 2nd (Bonfire of the Vanities) was about a year. I haven't heard anything announced beyond season 3 (Lucy) so I suspect it'll be some time before the next installment of their podcast will pop up.
Have you listened to any episodes of The Plot Thickens? The 1st season with Ben Markiewicz interviewing Bogdonavich was quite good and covers a lot of ground. The Bonfire of the Vanities season wasn't nearly as interesting. It seemed like they were stretching some pretty thin material over several episodes. I'm not much of a Lucy fan but her long career should provide more interesting material.
That's good news at least! No, I havent listened to any of them. I figured Bogdonovich would be just talking about himself (his favorite subject) I know enough about him already. Huge ego. I saw the wrap arounds for Bonfire, that was enough for me. Not that interested in the backstory.

Yikes! Now I'm going to put them in a safe deposit box....or check my renters insurance. I had no idea!
Yeah, if you ever need any money, sell them on ebay!

KLS (the oracle) said that on rare occasions an actor would use a profanity deliberately to require a retake. ABC could tolerate somethings but not an "Oh motherf*****" at 4 in the afternoon.
Joan made the mistake of always trying to correct herself, rather than just moving on like there was no mistake......

i'm in the PARALLEL TIME STORY now and I am enjoying it quite a bit. I also wonder if these shows were not "taped live" because of the impressive tricks they use switching between two versions of the same set, in one time its a totally empty room, and in another it's filled with furniture. and it doesn't look like there's an edit when the door is closed and reopened.
i also am really enjoying the evolution of the character of ROGER, he started out as very much a one-note human ascot, but thanks to seeing him in other times and also having gone through some heavy sh!t in the present, we see that he's a much better, more complicated person than he started out as.
They were filmed "live on tape." They rarely reshot unless a set fell over or something, why the flubs were left in.

The saddest to me has been DENISE NICKERSON. She died at 62,
I hadn't heard she'd died!

Thanks for that. I admit my eyes teared up at the end seeing them in the more recent group pix.

I checked Amazon, and as expected, only some are available at various prices. The first one must be out of print and is going for INSANE prices. ebay is probably the best bet if you can afford it.

There are a number:
My Scrapbook Memories of Dark Shadows (I think this is the first)
The Dark Shadows Companion 25th Anniversary Collection
Dark Shadows Almanac 30th Anniversary Tribute
Dark Shadows: Return to Collinwood
The Dark Shadows Movie Book (KLS gives the introduction and obviously focuses on the films)
I would recommend Craig Hamrick's "Barnabas & Co.: The Cast"
Kathryn's books include plot summaries and detailed cast/characters.
She made a good living with those books! Which is the best? The 25th Anniv. one? I imagine some of them are probably out of print. Wish I'd bought them when they came out, but was no Amazon back then.

Well Lucille Ball's movie career does not warrant a third Star of the Month while so many do not even get one ! If i follow the logic of selecting Lucille Ball for a 3rd time .Bela Lugosi should have been selected in october a few times in the past It would make sense,His career even with many low budget movies was more important than Lucille Ball's movie career but he has never been selected. But of course we will be hammered by the next podcast(I love Lucy ?) like we are right now by Bonfire of the Vanities ,The Plot is obvious.TCM was better 5 years ago,it is downhill and i do not like the current situation at the channel.
I'm wondering now if SOTMs are going to be tied in to podcasts. I DON'T like this trend........

When Frid took his vacation, they had Charity stake Barnabas in his coffin.....imagine the uproar that caused at the time!
Actually, it turned out to be merely a twin doppelganger that Angelique and Barnabas created while Julia tried to cure him of being a vamp. There's always a way!

Before her appearance, Dr. Hoffman was referred to as a "he" by the town physician Dr, Woodard. Guess somebody changed their mind (or their gender).
Or they hadn't cast the part yet! I remember that. Dr. Woodard didn't last too long.

When Julia first came on her show, she was head of her own sanitarium, where Maggie Evans was taken to after her ordeal of being held prisoner by Barnabas the vamp.
So yes, I guess Julia was a specialist in EVERY area....
LOL. Inquiring minds.......

You do sort of wonder about Julia's past love life and relationships or whatever.
"So....you specialize in rare blood disorders. Do you think there's much of a future in that?"
But wasn't she a psychiatrist? A Jill of All Trades?
