  1. What's wrong with that is they have done it 3 times. (SOTM) I have no problem with her films being shown. But 3 SOTMs are excessive. Her film career doesn't warrant that. It gives the impression that Lucy was a big film star. She just wasn't. She had a good run and even appeared in A films, but TCM is providing a spotlight that just wasn't there during her film career. TCM should be providing a spotlight on other stars who have yet to appear on SOTMs, which they rarely do. Lucy was a HUGE television star and is still very popular with the public. No denying that.
  2. Just because she's popular doesn't means she qualifies for THREE SOTM tributes! Not when so many other WORTHY actors and actresses are still waiting for one reason or another. Her film career wasn't that great. Mostly programmers and B films.
  3. Because she was a victim of racism (who wasn't back then?) doesn't mean she qualifies for SOTM status. She only made a handful of films. Just a couple of those were A films. They showed how many films? 12? They had to scrape the bottom of the barrel and show some Jungle Princess serial she was in. I'm all for showing her films. A SUTS day would be appropriate. But she doesn't qualify for SOTM status for what films she MIGHT have appeared in!
  4. LOL. Was the Mrs. Johnson actress not available? Yeah it did seem like 5 or 6 actors was the limit!
  5. I don't really remember there being one. If so, it was rarely used. (in the present day) There was a lot of talk about dinner and food prep though.
  6. I bet that sells for a pretty penny with collectors......I never knew there was one.
  7. All hundred of them. How many noteworthy films was she in? 3?
  8. I'm not .Lucille Ball was a B list actress. You could count the A list films she did on one hand.. She does NOT deserve a third go round as SOTM. It's only because of her tv show they are doing this. Enough with Lucy!
  9. But not in films. 3 times is ridiculous compared to those they've never even honored. (and can easily obtain their films like Gish and Davies!). But nothing beats the SOTM for Dorothy Dandridge.
  10. LOL. I knew he appeared on other soaps after Dark Shadows. I wonder if he was dropped or just found a better job. He was on some West Coast soap too. Forget which one. Maybe he went to the sanitorium during contract negotiations and they couldn't agree to terms, so he didn't come back!
  11. Does anyone have characters/actors they wished stayed with the show? I wish Maggie's father, Sam, had stayed on the show. I don't think he returned after the 1790s flashback. He was very believable as a painter. But he wasn't a major player on the show like some others. When did Joe Haskell get dropped?
  12. What was going on in the 1840 storyline, just generally? I only have vague memories of it. Werewolves? Frid played another character, right? Was Grayson Hall in that?
  13. It's surprising the MFL rollout didnt bag any supporting actor/actress wins (both were nominated) Ustinov was also an upset. Holloway had a better part than Cooper though, but didnt win.
