I just read up about him on imdb. Strange, I thought I heard all the Hollywood tragic tales/scandals, but this one escaped me. I've probably seen him in a film or two, just didnt know who he was. So sad............

How sad. Odd, I've never heard of this actor. Thanks for alerting us. I will definitely watch some. It's rare for TCM to devote a night to 30s films, especially obscure ones!

How sad. I hadnt heard she died either. I saw the film awhile ago when TCM ran it and remember RO talking about some medical issues she had, but cant remember now what he said...........I think it may have been during Oscar month last year.......

I agree. Steiger was robbed (didnt see the film until it popped up on TCM........) not that I didnt enjoy Cat Ballou and Marvin though.........

I can come up with plenty of people who SHOULD have been nominated, but I cant go so far to say they SHOULD have won. You will discount a lot of possible responses with that qualifier. Just this year, I think Tilda Swinton SHOULD have been nominated for We Need to Talk About Kevin, should she have won over Meryl Streep? I dont know........Few people saw the film. That's how it goes with Oscar nominations..........
