  1. What a bunch of creeps. Typical......
  2. Why did they tear it down? Because it was a church?
  3. LOL. At least some people are still wearing it..........
  4. What a hoot that was! I hadnt seen it in years. Bette at her smokin' best! (I lost count on how many light ups there were. LOL)
  5. It gets hot in Minneapolis too.......
  6. Yes, I thought he mentioned Los Feliz in the film, but wasnt sure.........
  7. Sorry, TikiSoo, but I dont recognize the first house. What is it? Where is the Double Indemnity house located (what part of LA)?
  8. Interesting, Arturo, I just ordered a book on the Old Bunker Hill neighborhood. I'd seen it in old noir films, but I always thought it was San Francisco! (LOL) Didnt realize there was a hill (or hills) in downtown LA. I've always been facinated in Los Angeles geography/history (though I've never been there) It is amazing (and lucky) that so many of downtown LA's movie palaces still survive today (whereas most of them in other cities are long gone) I guess it's due to the area not being prime real estate? How much of Bunker Hill was lopped off (feet, I mean) for the "new" hill? Is the Angel's Flight shorter now because of that?
  9. I allways thought that Dr Smith from Lost In Space was the Queen From Outer Space. LOL!!!
  10. Thanks for the info on the Stanley Donen interview! I love Two for the Road and it's one of my favorite movies. I hope TCM will run it (I know RO has already interviewed him but still.......) Wish I could've been there! I know Audrey was always linked to the movie, but the road to production was full of roadblocks. So glad it got made! Ironically Newman was also offered the role Sean Connery played in Robin and Marian. I'm glad Connery did it in the end...........So Paul lost out twice co-starring with Audrey.
  11. And, of course, the old hotels on Atlantic City's boardwalk..........
  12. Now there's a thought! I would tune in to AMC now if George Clooney was hosting............
  13. A guilty pleasure. I recorded it the last time it was on TCM and keep it in the DVR so I can watch whenver I get a hankering........ (I HATE DAT QVEEN!)
  14. THere's a website called Ruins of Detroit (or something like that) which has a lot of pictures of old, deteriorating houses and buildings in the city. Really sad.........
  15. Lara Parker too. Will be nice to see them all again, if only for a few mins.............
  16. This is one of the worst weeks for watching TCM ever for me. I hope this doesnt become a yearly thing. The movies are probably cheap to rent, but do we need them every night? UGH. Edited by: Hibi on Apr 19, 2012 12:20 PM
  17. Guess even vampires die. Sad. He lived a long life though. Almost 90! I read in Kathryn Leigh Scott's blog that he, she, and several other cast members filmed cameos in the upcoming Tim Burton movie (with Depp playing Barnabas). I definitely want to see it! 18. Yes. That's so true. How many old buildings were torn down to be replaced by parking lots/garages?? Have fun in Indy! Let us know what you visit.
  19. LOL. In that case, I'm glad I'm OUT!
  20. I caught part of it last night. I was laughing at the cheesy narration, but the visuals were great.....and that awful music!
  21. Well, outhouses were the norm back then. LOL.
  22. I definitely do. And old buildings are linked to old movies. Look at all the old movie palaces that have been torn down over the years.....architectural wonders torn down for new ugly buildings........
  23. That makes me even more mad to hear that. I dont get what is so offensive about Charlie Chan. I know he is sterotyped and he's played by a non-Asian, but he IS smart and solves crimes........It's not like he's a servant or something............. Sorry to get off topic..........but I hate viewing old films with a politically correct filter. It was a different era and it's part of history wether we like it or not........
