  1. Morgan Freeman was in that? LOL. I havent seen that film in decades...........
  2. Someone said it was due to scheduling other series during the week later in the month.........(every night!)
  3. According to the credits it was based on some play I never heard of (probably closed on the road!) It did have similarities to Gaslight..........
  4. He had a LOT going for him. Just not in the acting field. LOL. What a hunk!
  5. Yeah, I figured there must've been a splice there. There were several jumps during the movie as if the film had been spliced together..........
  6. LOL. I doubt that was due to Doris. Most 50s films are like that........
  7. Yeah, it was more Hollywood reality. In the real world, Ronnie would've been lucky to get out of there alive! LOL.
  8. I didnt know that. Interesting. I've never understood why the Lazenby film didnt do as well. He wasnt Connery, but he wasnt bad. The film has some great action sequences. I think marrying him off in the film wasnt a good idea (though I loved Diana Rigg)..........Was probably a good idea to ditch Gavin in any case! I never cared for Diamonds Are Forever (even if Connery was in it)........ Edited by: Hibi on Apr 5, 2012 5:50 PM
  9. LOL. I think it was a marriage of convenience. From what I've heard his wife was "that way' too.........Didnt last too long......
  10. ****. Too funny. I wonder what Doris thought. Yes, Portrait in Black is another similar type Hunter movie..........
  11. Yes. I could see the movie being a tough sell in certain parts of the country. Kind of like some of WB's 30's melodramas but with a bit more bite. Interesting that they didnt make the victim in the beginning a black man. Maybe that was just a bit too much for the 50s. Of course finding a local prosecutor like Ronnie in the south willing or interested in taking on the Klan was a hard sell too........
  12. I would've had a hard time buying Crawford standing still for that whipping! LOL. There was nothing wrong with Steve's acting. I just thought he should've played the role heavier rather than a dumb lummox type........ Edited by: Hibi on Apr 5, 2012 3:01 PM
  13. And how did the tormentor get the new number? LOL. Maybe they hadnt changed it yet? That part was never really explained. You'd think that would've been a high priority given the circumstances......... Ross Hunter should've paid more attention to script details then the sets and Doris' wardrobe......... 14. **** Jonny! (The pregnancy Oscar bit) Yeah, I was aware of how that song became a theme song for gays of that era. (Little did Doris know! LOL)...........I think they showed clips of that in the doumentary. Wasnt it shown on TCM?
  15. Funny line! Yeah, the red herrings were so clumsily introduced (and forgotten). Anyone with half a brain (or who's watched a few of these movies) could figure out who's behind it all early enough........
  16. Yes, the miracle of long distance calling! Well, he was a British foreman. (LOL!)
  17. I dont think Susan has ever been SOTM has she? Long overdue if not!
