  1. "No one is all bad". "She comes the closest!". I vote for Kathy too (Jane Greer)
  2. LOL. The pix didnt come through, but I went there myself. Yowza! LOL.
  3. Barrel chested? How do you know? Did he play beekcake roles too? I cant tell from his suits......(LOL).....
  4. Well, Jonny, I meant loser as in never winning. Kerr at least got an honorary award.........Agree Thelma is the biggest loser in the supporting category. Wouldnt be too sure about Streep winning this year (though it's long overdue)...
  5. I hadnt thought of the accent angle either. Makes sense! LOL. Poor Irene Dunne. The biggest Oscar loser in history (actress-wise). As you said her free lance status hurt her (as it did Stanwyck and Grant.) But at least they made up for it with them with honorary awards. Irene didnt even get that despite living into her 90s........
  6. Doesnt look like I'll be tuning in much. Stuff I've seen many times over......Sometimes I'd tune with Baldwin/RO to hear what they had to say and skip the movie. I doubt that will be the case with Drew.....
  7. Due to the code, the adultery was left up in the air for the audience to decide. Dunne's music teacher was such a baffoon, I doubt many came to that conclusion. Grant was more iffy.........The basic premise was lack of trust, not the adultery............
  8. ****! I remember an episode where Eddie came up to Mrs. Cleaver and asked, "How's the Beaver, Mrs. Cleaver? Too funny. More innocent times.........
  9. Yes. Those were the days. I miss the old shows TVLand used to show.
  10. I liked this version better than the '45 version also. I didnt really miss the songs. (the less said about the 62 version the better, though it did bring back Alice Faye......). Plus it had that pre-code hint of sex!
  11. Yes. That's what I figured..........
  12. The quality of the print was good. But there were several splices where some words of dialog were cut off.......
  13. Interesting. Gaynor got billing over Rogers in the screen credits. Wonder if it varied depending on the area of the country?
  14. I posted on the other thread too. I really enjoyed the film, even if the print wasnt the greatest. I like it better than the 45 version w/out the songs. It was certainly franker! I couldnt believe how out there they were about the son sleeping with the Sally Eilers character. Did anyone get a chuckle over the mom's joke about the son fooling around with his male friend all night?? LOL. Times were different then. I liked Henry King's direction. He added some nice touches......
  15. Where was I that month? I have no memory of it at all. Cant blame it on not having TCM as I had it then. WEIRD.
  16. So she has been then? I dont remember that at all. Where was I?
  17. TCM used to do this, but they stopped doing it 3 or 4 years ago. Dont know why. It annoys me.......
  18. It worked for Joel McCrea, let's start one for Joan. Anyone else agree? Oscar winner, Sibling rivalry. Has her own rose. And she's still alive. Come on, TCM! You did it for Olivia...........
  19. Can you blame her? Bet she had a good time for awhile...........
  20. Gable had false teeth and hallitosis. Viv didnt enjoy her love scenes w/him (LOL)........
