It's odd as only 3 films were preoccupied with her virginity, yet they type cast her forever in that regard it seems. (In all 3 she was about to give it up, but some plot point prevented her). Never mind she was pushing 40 at this time thrice married and a mother in real life. I agree Mink is the least of the virginity films, but Audrey Meadows has a lot of funny lines.............

LOL. Enjoy. Your loss........... Isnt that what acting is, performing? Edited by: Hibi on Dec 13, 2011 2:55 PM

Katherine Hepburn: The Most Over-Rated Star In Hollywood History
Hibi replied to Bolesroor's topic in General Discussions
I know this sounds bad, but Hepburn is one of the few stars I could never imagine having a sex life (I assume she must've had one......) Just cant picture her "doing it".....(Clifton Webb is another....) -
Yes. Lover, Come Back is a favorite of mine. Pillow Talk too, but I rate Lover a bit higher.......
-
LOL. I only learned the other definition by looking it up. Hilarious. (though I guessed partly right........)

Katherine Hepburn: The Most Over-Rated Star In Hollywood History

To the point. I never noticed the number of posts before! -
Thanks. I think I'll wait till I see it on TCM though. Loses something......
-
Agree. Almost always she was better than her material. Most of the time she had to make do with subpar scripts, but she was always watchable........ Edited by: Hibi on Dec 13, 2011 11:59 AM

LOL. REAHLLY? -
I'm sure TCM doesnt consider him a big enough star to do so. Not every "star" gets a tribute either. (Teresa Wright; Jane Russell; Kathryn Grayson etc.......)

Katherine Hepburn: The Most Over-Rated Star In Hollywood History

She was definitely overrated in her later years. All those subpar tv movies she made. On Golden Pond (undeserved Oscar); Guess Who's (another undeserved Oscar); Love Affair. I dont know why in her later years she was treated like royalty when others were ignored.......... -
Yes, it does have its moments. Plenty of funny zingers in there.........(as long as you're not the one getting zinged!)........
-
LOL. I cant remember the good old days because I never flew then. If I cant drive there forget it (a good idea on my salary......) Cant say I will miss the body searches and pat downs

At last! The Mystery of Edwin Drood on Monday night
Hibi replied to Swithin's topic in General Discussions
I havent listened to the cast recording in quite awhile (great cast; George Rose, Cleo Laine, Betty Buckley, Howard McGillinn.......) I think it was done as a British Music Hall type of show, complete with a Master of Ceremonies (Rose).......Wish I could've seen it. The London version flopped for some reason. Critics hated it there.......... -
What kind of talent does Trump have? LOL. Firing people? I've heard Alec has now offended Greyhound by comparing American Airlines to Greyhound busing (LOL)........
-
LOL. No way am I going to complile stats on the subject. I will leave that to someone else. Any takers? I know. I think of all the free air time that could be filled with other movies. I'm sure the films must be cheap to rent or they wouldnt repeat so often..........
-
Probably. Its 2 hrs shorter........
-
It's neck and neck with Zhivago as the most shown movie the last couple years........
-
I think the film has lost some of its zing over the years, but I agree about Burton. Sad he never won one or even an honorary one. He should have won for Equus too.......

At last! The Mystery of Edwin Drood on Monday night
Hibi replied to Swithin's topic in General Discussions
I think there were like a half dozen different endings for the musical, depending on what character the audience voted to be the killer. I bet it was a lot of fun to see the show (I have the cast recording) Does anyone know how much of the novel was finished before he died? Was it just a few chapters or a lot more? -
Well, I'll admit to 20 times, but NOT fifty! LOL.
-
No, it isnt that posters hate the film, they HATE it being shown so much!
-
Yes, true. What bothers Mason is the suspicion that Eve had become emotionally involved............
-
Ironically, though, Eve didnt give her all. Cary said that just to get her po'd. According to the film, they slept in separate berths! (LOL) To appease the code, no doubt..............
