I'm glad it's on a Friday! I need to make more room on the DVR. I only work a half day on Fridays so hopefully wont have to record too many. Cant wait!

I'm sorry I recorded Dramatic School. I got around to watching it last night. But Paulette was one of the films few graces. I dont know weather it was the part, or her acting (I think both) but I couldnt stand Luise Rainier. I had to FF through scenes towards the end as I couldnt take it (her!) anymore!!! At least it's erased to make room for Ronald Colman silents today!

I dont think Audrey looks dated. Maybe her 50's make up. But stylewise, she looks very contemporary. Her "style" has never gone out of style..........Women continue to copy her. Or try.........

OK. Yes, I read that book. I didnt think Paulette had written a book (she was always very coy about her personal life). Too bad. I'm sure she had plenty of tales she could tell....
Yes, Finance I agree PG does have a very modern look, style, approach etc. She'd fit in very well today. From what I've read, she was always the life of the party; sophisticated; funny. And I dont think she even went to HS. (had to drop out due to poverty).........

Question about Nothing But the Truth. Does anyone know the name of the actor in it who was also in Lady from Shanghai? (he played the married guy who was leading the actress on). He was so effective in that part I had a hard time accepting him in the role at first (so creepy!)

Yes. So close, but yet so far. Had not Vivien Leigh happened on the scene, she may have been filmdom's Scarlett O'Hara (had she got the part I'm sure Paulette would've produced a marriage certificate somehow!). I've seen a brief clip of her in a test (probably on TCM) in one of the numerous GWTW programs.
Recorded and watched Nothing But the Truth yesterday and I'm glad I did! (Could only record a few films so I had to choose). Very funny movie! (had never heard of it). Not much of a story, but I laughed quite a bit at the silly situations........
Caught the last 1/2 hr of Modern Times. The ending always makes me cry. One of my favorite movie endings. If she couldnt play Scarlett, at least she's immortalized in film thanks to Chaplin.......
How many films did she do with Bob Hope? I know there were several......

Geez, if Youtube can run it, why cant TCM show it?????? Sorry, I've never seen it. It was panned by critics at the time and flopped, but that doesnt necessarily mean it deserved it...

I didnt know she wrote her memoirs. I expect it's long out of print. Do you remember the title? She lived a very interesting life (married, well sort of, to Chaplin and Eric Maria Remarque (sp?) among others......
Isnt a great line up of her films. But at least there are some winners here and there.....
What exactly did Fred say about Paulette, Finance? I thought she did a good job in that number, considering she wasnt a dancer......

Tikisoo, I hate Norma Shearer in the whole movie (The Women). But the ending is especially irksome. I keep hoping Joan Crawford will amble in and pie her in the face!
