They definitely started with the best film and worked backwards......didnt make it through the third one, was too tired.....
With VALENTINO DURING THE DAY AND SPILLANE AT NIGHT another great day on TCM..........
wish TCM would devote Fri nights to Film Noirs EVERY week!

I hadnt heard this. She reminded me physically of Audrey Hepburn. Was around the same age too. I'll always remember her for Body Snatchers. She did a lot of tv too in the 60s. I doubt TCM considers her big enough for windshield tribute. Too bad.....
-
One of my favs too. Grant Williams in that little toga. To die for. A shame he didnt have a more successful career.......
-
Sure. Why not? LOL.
-
He was active right to the end. What a life.
-
Such a handsome man. A shame he died so young.........
-
Another one gone. I wonder if TCM will do a tribute? They've ignored a lot of people the past few years (movie tributes, I mean).......
-
Yeah, I agree. The music is very effective in that scene too. Didnt Franz Waxman do the score?
-
So true! Only 63. makes me sick to think of all the good she could have done in the world the last 20 years. People like her, Liz Taylor and Paul Newman prove that an individual CAN make a difference

And mine.
-
LOL. Wiseguy.
-
It hardly seems like they show movies anymore. Whenever I check, its original programming on.........

SAD. Well they wouldnt have to sched it exactly on her birthday.........They should do SOMETHING. I doubt they have people checking up on this stuff......
-
I think its just teleprompteritus. I think I'd get tonguetied too at times........
-
LOL. I checked online. They dumped them. Odd, as I never read anything about it.......
-
Does anyone know if the Sundance channels have gone off the air? Mine suddenly disappeared from my cable offerings. I dont recall any warnings about it (not that its any great loss...)

She'd be 82 today. ;( TCM is showing a few movies (same old ones...)
-
Wow. He looks great for 79
-
How old is he? Does anyone know?

Does anyone remember the tv series Connie did with George Burns called Wendy and Me??? It was a blatant rip off of George's show with Gracie with Connie playing Gracie's part as his neighbor. I remember Troy in Surfside 6, another WB detective series (think Miami Vice in the 60s!)
I remember seeing Troy on the Tonight show in the late 60s promoting some AIP trash pic he was in. He had long hair and a long scraggly beard and looked horrible! I was shocked.

YES! I remember that show. Connie sang on it too.........I had a crush on Robert Conrad. They'd always show him climbing out of a pool in swimming trunks in the opening (LOL).
-
NO, IT ISNT!! But it's fun in a bad movie way (Parrish)

Recorded and watched yesterday. (only saw a portion of it years ago). Cant believe this was such a big hit on the stage. Liv Ullmann is badly miscast and much too young for the role, but manages to have a few good moments. Terrible script (was the play as bad?) Binnie Barnes was the best thing in it...........
-
Yes too funny. You could tell it was a doll. I could predict the plot turns 15 mins before they happened. Too bad Grant Williams was out so early in the movie. Would've liked him in the lead better than Troy. So handsome. Movie wasnt as trashy as I expected, but oh so bad! Now TCM, please show Claudelle English!!! (similar soaper w/ Diane McBain)

The story seems to be cursed as both films were costly flops. The E.T. version especially so........The production delays were legendary, and of course, E.T. became ill..........dont think it played more than a week or two in most U.S. engagements.......
