Yes. Me too. I wouldnt mind if TCM devoted a night or day to them. Great fun! Wish they'd run the 60s version of Back Street w/Susan Hayward. Havent seen that one in many years.....Vera Miles was such fun!
-
Ray or the character he played?
-
LOL. Poor Claudette. She really had a thankless role. She disappeared about halfway through the movie and you rarely saw her again. Didnt even show her at the finish. And it turned out to be her last film role. And she took second billing to Troy Donahue!

Tomw night. Midnight (Fri into Sat.) I've wanted to see this movie for years. I'm not sure it's ever been on before (if so, I've missed it!) WB excelled at this type of trashy soap opera in the early 60s with a whole series of similar films. Troy Donahue. Connie Stevens. Bad Movie Heaven! Cant wait! (I started early with Parrish last Sunday!) Join me tomw night!

Oh, I see. I dont get Now Playing, I just print out the schedule from the website when the month changes. I imagine the magazine is printed many months in advance, so it's hard to say what happened. Hopefully it'll be on again in the future. I think it's an MGM film so they should have access to it. It doesnt seem to be shown much though. I cant remember the last time it's been on or if its ever been on!
-
I dont remember it being on the schedule when I printed it out. What time was it supposed to be on? Not one of Doris' best, but I can understand your frustration if you were looking forward to it.......

LOL. The Thing With 2 Heads is so hilariously bad, I decided to buy a copy (really cheap!) It's actually on DVD! I saw it once on AMC (I think) years ago. The other two arent that bad. Standard AIP stuff. But Heads is in a class by itself! Dunno what posessed Ray to do that one. That short of cash?
-
Probably. I havent seen that one. I remember Frogs, The Thing With Two Heads etc....... They need more tv exposure!
-
I know they arent classics by any means, but I wish they'd have included a few of the AIP Drive In flicks he did at the end of his career. (The Thing With Two Heads anyone?)
-
The French actress must've been Capucine. She did make a later film with Wayne (North to Alaska).......
-
Cant wait! Have wanted to see this for years. Joan Bennett changed her haircolor (and screen image) for this movie and was forever a sultry brunette afterward......
-
I noticed that too. Am looking forward to seeing Romance On The High Seas again. Odd they didnt do it on her birthday.......I'll be at work for Love Me and My Dream Is Yours, but I dont want to record them (too much I havent watched already......)
-
And who lets a condemned murderess out of jail the day before she's supposed to be executed? LOL.
-
So envious you got to see Angela Lansbury! How was the interview? Agree with other posters about Tippi. I saw a recent photo of her and she looked great. I think she's in her 70s?
-
Yes, the Ptolemy (sp?) line were known for their big noses........
-
WHY didnt TCM show any of her movies?

-
I watched a lot of the tribute Sunday, but I admit to being somewhat bored by it, because so many of the films are shown so often on TCM. I would've enjoyed the day much more if they had shown some movies that arent in heavy rotation or some TCM premieres (like her later movies). One truly awful movie (I recorded) was Conspirator. WHY show that? I hadnt seen that one, didnt miss anything!
-
I was home sick, so I was able to watch it. I remember watching it years ago but couldnt remember much about it except for when Jean dresses up in her big "scene". Good movie and another winning performance from Jean (too bad she was stuck wearing that godawful wig for most of the movie) Happy to hear she'll be SOTM soon. Long overdue!
-
I hadnt heard he died till I saw the TCM Remembers the other night. I was shocked! What was his last film? The Devil Knows Your Dead? (Or something like that)
Am happy to hear they are doing a tribute. I havent seen Dog Day Afternoon in eons, so am looking forward to recording that (assuming it'll be on in the wee hrs........)
-
That's what TCM is all about! (Dead People) LOL. Thanks to celluloid, they dont stay dead (to us)....
-
Not to mention James Coburn and Raquel Welch (who spends most of the movie in a bikini)....
Filmlover, it's been so long since I've seen the movie, I cant remember Being Alive, but I'll watch for it this time............
-
LOL. I never made it through the movie last time it was on but I do remember Connie's striptease! I'll have to catch the rest of it!
-
LOL. He went to a brothel in Hawaii (I think) during the war. Then met an officer outside by the pool afterwards.........
-
Yes, but I dont think Grayson's double feature had anything to do with her passing. Wasnt it already scheduled? And Jane Russell's birthday salute was already scheduled before she died. Just happened to be a lucky coincidence.
I dont know how they decide who gets a movie tribute or how long. Some get a day. Some just get a few films. Some get totally ignored (I still get PO'd when I think back to them doing nothing for Teresa Wright.......)

Where Were You When the Lights Went Out?

Yes. It was a great idea for a movie, but the script blew it. I do vaguely remember the event, but luckily I wasnt in the area (it would've been fun as I was a kid back then........) How long WERE the lights out? I cant remember........
