Maybe its too expensive for the film rights? In the case of J.A. they wouldn't get Mary Poppins or SOM.......
-
I doubt it. LOL.
-
I forget the title too. It was remade in the 50s with Rod Steiger. (different title, I think, Odds Against Tomorrow?)
-
Yeah, that could be........

Yeah, looked like he'd have to shave 3x a day to keep it in check. Bette must've got a lot of whisker burn........

In response to lafitte (someone else's post slipped in before me). The caddish part is coming back into Joan's life and romancing her stepdaughter, knowing full well this will upset her (and leads to her full blown dementia) And he even admits her money is part of it! He doesn't care who he hurts as long as he gets what he wants. I was quite happy to see him get plugged!

Don't feel bad. It happens to me too. I've always found Chester Morris attractive, though can understand people feeling otherwise. I think it's his nose......

The Hard Way.

No, even Van beats Ray!

I think Cyd did a good job in Silk Stockings. One of the rare times she was required to do some real acting.
-
Yes, that's true. A very rare choice.

I don't think Jane Fonda has been either. No "recent" stars (still living). I don't think they are interested in Silent Stars being SOTM..

Who will care at this point? (Tonys)

Let sleeping dogs lie..........

So people who are pro-choice don't have good hearts???

Wow. There must be something in that cobra venom........ Wayne, I'm curious. Whose picture is that in your avatar?

LINCOLN!!!!!

LOL. Keep Joan away from children!
-
Joan was in ROUTE 66??? What kind of part did she play???
-
Perfect for the part!
-
For sure. A CLASS A JERK! (VAN). Glad Joan finally plugged him!
-
YUCK! To each his (her) own.........

I haven't seen this film in a long time and although I was impressed with it and Joan's performance years ago, I don't find it as compelling as when I first saw it. Even so, I don't think Loretta deserved the Oscar. That IMO should have gone to Roz Russell. Joan does a good job, but overall the film is a bit too glossy and "women's picture". Plus Van Heflin as the love object strains credibility........and its too LONG.
