One of the employee picks. I'm unsure if it's a TCM premiere, if not, it's rarely shown. I havent seen it in many years and am looking forward to watching it again. Can you guess whodonit? (I didnt first time around......)

Good question. But they dont do tributes to many stars that pass on. I dont know what their rule of thumb is.......

In his book he said they were. They were going to get married at one point. But they called it off at the last minute (cant remember why now) They had a fight about something. I remember Shelley writing about him in her memoirs too......Just as well! They stayed friends.....He talked about Laurents in his book too......

Yes. Cleopatra was originally to be a modestly budgeted film with Joan Collins! (LOL)...... Fate proved otherwise........

Agree. Rex is the best thing in the movie. The film goes downhill after his demise....

Cleopatra was not a dud at the box office. It made a lot of money. But because of it's huge cost, it took many years to make any profit......Critical appraisal was mixed to unfavorable, but because of the scandal, people flocked to see it.........
That said, it's not one of my favorites either......

That's true about Harrison in the ad. He threatened to sue unless his figure was added. In early prints it was just Burton and Taylor......

In addition to Shelley, he lived with and came close to marrying Janice Rule as well and claimed a fling with Ava Gardner and others. (he said he lost his virginity to both sexes on the same night!) So it seems he WAS bisexual........(from his book).
