Neither star would admit there was any bad feeling, but there were plenty of behind the scenes stories and comments. Supposedly, Joan faked her illness during Charlotte so she wouldnt have to deal with Bette again......
-
I was looking at it earlier and it was giving different times. Very strange. Now it's back to 8pm......
-
LOL. How quickly they forget. I wish I could've seen your costume. I missed the showing, but I saw it not too long ago, so it was ok..........
-
I've noticed TCM isnt kicking off it's primetime lineup at 8pm this month (or at least this week) Anyone know why they are mixing up the times? Seems films are starting at 7 or 7:30 now. Is this going to be a permanent change? (I'll have to remind myeself.....)

I think a lot of the gossipy rivalry tales were contained in the book The Divine Feud which chronicled the lifelong rivalry between the two stars. Weather true or not, it makes for some entertaining reading.....

It's nice to know a few young people knew who she was. Many young people today have no knowledge of history (cultural, world or U.S.)........ I noticed TCM is running Remembers clips. Very nice.
-
Its amazing they didnt make them change the ending.............What a cop out that would have been.
-
I was referring to the Hitchcock tv show and the fact I never saw her on there. (though I've seen many episodes). Maybe she's holding on to them? LOL. I've never seen The Mudlark and really want to but its Fox, so I doubt it will be turning up on TCM anytime soon.......
-
LOL. Too funny.
-
Do you mean "The Mudlark"? I wasnt aware she appeared on the tv show. I never saw those episodes (though I've seen many.......)
-
No, I didnt mean the bus was from the Wrong Man, but Strangers on a Train.......
-
Yes, I know. They used it as background music (Married) in one scene. Liza sang it as part of her Cabaret medley in her shows. I think she could've sang it in the movie (though it wasnt sung by her character in the stage version) as the subject matter fit. But they were intent on only having songs in the Cabaret segments (except for the big Tomorrow Belongs to Me showstopper! LOL)
-
Is the bus scene in that one? I think that's from Strangers On A Train.......
-
LOL. Yeah, I'm sure most people under 40 dont know who she is......or 50 even. When did her bra commercials stop?
-
LOL. I've heard of her. Is she of the same political persuasion as grandaddy?
-
LOL. Are they still using those Killer's Kiss clips? (I'm rarely up that late) And yeah, I'm really sick of those DAMN GOOD ACTRESS promos.......
-
Hey, dont look at me. I havent said a word........I didnt even watch her on the show.........
-
LOL. I dont think so.........
-
LOL. Sad, but true.
-
Yeah, I'm burned out on Oscar month and ready to move on. At last is right!

A PG version of bawdy. What about Married or I Dont Care Much? Not every song was great, but my point is they eliminated some good ones (obviously when they cut the landlady/boarder out their songs had to go.....)
-
Yes, I hate that too. It shouldnt be a popularity contest.......
-
Well, I could see a lot of people taking it that way. The film is about as subtle as a sledgehammer. See this is what will happen when you have loose morals.... The Tomorrow Belongs to Me Number is a perfect example of this. It was used differently on the stage......I do like the Cabaret numbers, but I feel the movie is very overrated (thought so when I first saw it, and still do....)
-
I'm sure Joel would've turned down the part. (LOL).

As far as I know. The times werent synched right even if they were another time zone. Odd. Some computer glitch, I guess......
