Wish I had known this! I thought I checked all the stations for marathons over the wknd, but I forgot SciFi. Too bad!
Maybe next year...... -
I forgot all about that Twilight Episode! And yes, I remember her on Golden Girls too. She did many guest shots on tv over the years. It's too bad Honey West didnt pan out for her. I remember how angry she was when it was cancelled (in interviews at the time) It got good ratings. Still a mystery to me. Too edgy?
-
Oh, SO SAD to hear this. I always liked her. Mostly from her tv appearances, but later from her film roles too. I do remember Honey West! Bet it would be a hoot to watch now. She still looked beautiful the last few times I saw her on tv. Too bad TCM never interviewed her. I guess she wasnt a big enough star, but I'm sure she had some interesting stories as she worked with some big stars. Too bad.

I saw the segment last night. Hard to really make out WHAT happened. Was Marilyn putting them on? Making a joke? Or possibly just heard the name Whitman and jumped to the wrong conclusion? Then again, it's hard to believe they were discussing Walt Whitman at a Hollywood party (LOL!) I know MM KNEW who Whitman was as she did visit him and it was much publicized (later in her life)with pictures......It's possible it never really happened so who knows? I didnt find the segment offensive.

WOW! I'm jealous! I watched as much as I could, but it WAS a marathon. Had to get some sleep. I didnt see any Shemp. Was it an all Curly marathon? (I prefer Curly, but was just curious)...
The commercials were SUPREMELY annoying. Same half dozen all day long. I hope I never see Dr. Joyce Brother's face again!

-
LOL. I love MOE!

-
Yeah, I've heard she's really good, but not sure I will enjoy it overall. Maybe some time down the road I'll change my mind........
-
I doubt I will see it, despite good reviews. I never saw the original (and still not all of it) until it aired on tv. I'm not a big Jeff Bridges fan (Sorry) and he looks very unappealing with that grizzly beard.....Not a big western fan either! I do like the Coens (usually) but I think I'll skip this one.....
-
Well, it's not like I can go back and check. LOL. The argueing didnt seem that bad when I signed off. I wish they'd just DELETE the offending posts!
-
Speaking of the STOOGES, there's a STOOGE marathon on AMC (if you can stand all the commercials) on NYD.
NYUK, NYUK!
I'll be there!
-
I agree. It shouldnt have been locked (what I saw of it at least) What a drag..........2 people started arguing and poof, gone!

-
I dont remember if it was here or in Hot Topics, but it's disappeared. I must've spent 15 mins looking for it the other day. It was a long thread and it's gone now. WHAT happened to it?

-
WHY was the thread locked up? I've spent 15 mins looking for it today. Talk about eyestrain!

-
I hope Colin FIrth wins too. He was wonderful last year and has done great work in the past too. I cant wait to see the movie (maybe this wknd)........
-
I too expected The Queen to be boring, and was pleasantly surprised to find it wasnt at all. I was hooked from the first scene........
-
It seems to be on every night on AMC. Colorized (ICK!) and B&W! Nothing like beating a movie to death..........
-
I think it's a toss up between both films, but I give Social Network the edge. The Director's Guild winner will be the tip off. I didnt care for Social Network (well made film, but I just didnt like the story or characters....) Havent seen King's Speech yet. Hasnt opened here. You ARE kidding, Fred?

-
They may have used fake titles on the marquee. But I know of at least one time they used real one sheets in the background. I think it was That Touch of Mink. Andy/Helen/Barney and Thelma Lou were exiting. And I think there was some talk of Cary Grant. LOL
-
That's interesting. Didnt know that........
-
Is he born on the same day?
-
It always irked Edwards that Tiffanys developed an after life all its own and was more popular than some of his other films. (Hey, never underestimate the appeal of Audrey Hepburn!)
Tiksoo, Robert Altman directed Mash, not Edwards.
-
Yeah, you are probably right there. I doubt it played more than a week or two anywhere.....outside of maybe NYC or LA...........
-
They'd need a younger version of her too for the beginning.......
-
I think Bette would be happy if Meryl played her. She was a big fan of hers. But they would have to cast someone else as the young Bette....

Shameful...Arlene Dahl on Marilyn Monroe "Word of Mouth" Segment
