  1. why is it that TCM takes so long to show her films and when they do, they are at very bad hours. however, i see that on may 2nd they will be showing as an essential no less, Ninotchka and then Anna Christie which they nver show and they will also show Queen Christina which was way ahead of its time in content, watch the film and see what i mean, anyway thank you TCM for this nice treat, keep up the good work, incidentally i am sick of seeing Gaslight it is a good film but really every other week it is on.......and correct me if i am wrong but Bergman does not create much interest today, lots
  2. Garbo - she has not been sotm for 9 years....................................she is always being overlooked...............................
  3. GARBO, GARBO, GARBO, GARBO AND MORE GARBO, FOR GOODNESS SAKES HOW CAN TCM CONSTANTLY PUSH HER ASIDE WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY CURRENT ITEMS IN HER NAME: I.E. PERFUMES, POSTERS, CLOTHING LINES AND EVEN SWEDISH MONEY SOON TO BE ISSUED.......SHE IS TRULY A MOVIE ICON COVERING BOTH SILENT AND TALKING PICS......NOT MANY ACTRESSES COULD BOAST SUCCESS OVER TO TALKIES AND SHE DID HER BEST WORK IN THE TALKING ERA! YOU CLAIM TO BE CLASSIC FILMS BUT HOW CAN YOU FORGET HER??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  4. i am a fan of Ms. Joan although i have to say my favorite is Garbo and Joan loved her acting too and her beauty and Davis once said that Garbo was a witch before the camera, praising her acting skills, each of these ladies possess their own qualities, show some respect for them and in this case for Joan!
  5. come on TCM gives us a break - she has been overlooked for the last 9 years!
  6. Bringing up baby - nothing is funnier than that film!
  7. let us have Garbo and all her films should be shown including the 2 European films and the uncut and uncensored Mata Hari - then we will have some interesting stuff going on here!
  8. Pardon, my french, but does not the word classic identify something or someone who has endured the test of time? yes, there are some great films and stars of more modern times, but to be called classic they must endure the time test of longevity and love by the public, so when Turner named the movie channel, it is called Turner Classic Movies - remember the middle name and show us films that fit that description and deserve the respect that goes along with the word, keep showing us Garbo, Davis, Crawford, Bogart, Taylor - etc...you get the general idea???????
  9. i agree with you what is with all the new films - yes there are some great things being done today and after the 50's but classic means classic and to become a classic of anything you must endure time - only that is accomplished with aging - so the older films are the only classics that have endured to this time - long live Garbo, Crawford Bogart Davis and all the classic ones!
  10. my list is: Camille Titanic - 1997 Pearl Harbor 2001 Grand Hotel Anna Karenina - 1935 The Godfather Parts 1 and 2 i could go on and on but you can see there are some great newer films too added: Casablanca Gone with the Wind Flesh and Devil - silent Dr. Zhivago let me leave this now - i really could go on and on!
  11. sorry, i love TCM but i am glad the story of film is ending, that was pure junk - we want to see classic American film- and some occasional imports, let them show Garbo's foreign films,-she was a beauty even before MGM- viv la TCM!
  12. i have a right to saY THAT TCM did not observe veterans day - i know it was Monday and you should know that too - i am a loyal American and thinks that the Vets should have been honored by TCM - and yes i am sick of this foreign junk that is being shown - i am watching TCM less and lesser these days - thank goodness Crawford will be SOTM in January maybe TCM is returning to its senses!
  13. garbo's eyes they convey soooooo much
  14. Romance 1930 and Anna Christie 1930 (German language version)
  15. i think it is a disgrace to ignore vets day! lots of vets and their families watch TCM get with the program so to speak and stop with the foreign garbage we want our american film classics!
  16. thank you for remembering her birthday, she is surely a beauty for the centuries!
  17. what a lovely film Garboat her silent best - it is a good story also and very well acted on her part - long live Garbo Silents!
  18. September 18the came and went and no Garbo birthday tribute, i am so sad over that and now i see that for the coming months NO GG films will be on TCM please stop showing stuff from the later years past the 60's and start going back to the basic films that we all love!
  19. ok, TCM has once again ignored Garbo for SUTS and now even her birthday---Sept. 18th is her birthday and it is being IGNORED again! why does this happen??????? TCM i love your station and i love bob osborne, but please give some respect to this great actress and timeless beauty! she made hollywood glamorous and wonderful like a dream world she deserves more than this!
  20. i think you should find out about her personal life, and what she did during WW11 and then make your conclusions, she had a terrible childhood and was tormented for years about herself...she was far mor than just an actress. thank you very much!
  21. I MEANT TO SAY PLEASE DO NOT FORGET HER *AND YOU DO NOTHAVE TO BE SO SARCASTIC ABOUT HER - DO SOME RESEARCH ON HER AND SEE WHAT A DIFFERENT AND SPECIAL PERSON SHE WAS AND WILL REMAIN!*
  22. please do now forget her!
  23. i have already suggested Matthew Modine - he is very knowledgable about movies = is current and so handsome - please ask him to come on TCM - i bet he would!
  24. why would you when you have Garbo in it twice - the silent LOVE and Anna Karenina in which she breaks your heart and you feel the pain of a mother being torn from her child in that scene with Basil Rathbone yelling at her as she descends down the staircase like her heart has been ripped out of her chest - see the Garbo version please!
  25. Garbo, who has not been SOFM since 2005 - she is so in a class by herself, it is just glorious just to watch her face and hear her voice, she was the star that stood alone!
