  1. last night i watched these films

the one with Bergman was passable, it was ok in its presentation of St. Joan

the one with Seberg was disrespectful and irreverent to a Saint that many believe in

it was just a horrible film, one of the worst i have ever see, and Richard Widmark, what was he thinking when he accepted the role of the Dauphin???????????????

the silent version is the best, in my opion, what a masterpiece!

  2. last night it was Joan of Arc films, the one with Bergman was ok

the second with Seberg was disrespectful, and insulting to a Saint which many believe in

the only respectful and artful masterpiece is the silent version The

    Passion of Joan of Arc

that is all i have to say!

  3. i agree, some films are always on: try Casablanca on for size, come on, how many times can you see this film, give me a break, why doesnt TCM show some of the lesser known films of the greats of the golden era.....there are many gems that the die hard fans know of, fans of

Gable, Garbo, John Barrymore, Crawford, Davis, we all know of the lesser known films, how TCM never shows them?

  4. i cannot seem to get any of his talking films, and one silent film, Twelve Miles Out with Joan Crawford is no where to be found, where can we get this film and Gentleman's Fate (a talkie) starring this truly lovely man?

  5. there is a little known flick, Romance, that starred Garbo, in 1930 and she was in fact nominated for best actress (twice in the same year, the other is for Anna Christie) needless to say if you want to see a lovely lady beautifully dressed, TCM should play this film, in fact it started a craze for ladies' hats- check it out, in fact Warner has just remastered this gem, it is a feast for your eyes!

  6. I truly enjoyed the broadcast of a truly great one - Grand Hotel, how much better can it get?

and then after it, Mutiny on the Bounty with Gable..........

before GH we saw Shall We Dance - TCM really out did itself with variety and quality that day, last Thursday, let us do it again!

  7. i do not like the lack of

Garbo, Davis, Crawford, Cary Grant, etc., films either, give me a break, why do they not show the films that are not in the Signature Collections of these great stars! show some lesser known films of these people, the TCM will be doing something good for the watchers - how many times can one see Casablanca????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? - I will not buy the film because I can see it daily on TCM!

  8. this is really inexcuseble to - if you do not like TCM do not watch it!!!!~

we people who love RO and TCM do not like this kind of nonsense.

I love Robert Osborne, look forward to what he has to say, and love TCM it is practically the only station I watch!

  9. please show us some good romantic silent films, they are the best in my opinion, with great screen lovers like valentino, gilbert, novarro, john barrymore, and the gals like Garbo, Renee Adoree, Gloria Swanson, the Gish sisters and mary pickford, give us some of these fine people and their great films, of the great silent era!

  10. in Feb. there are going to be shown lots of good classic movies, but i do not wish to see the films after the 50's, that is when the studio system was breaking down, we classic movie lovers do not frequent current so-called films, because we are home watching the real gems and classic films and stars, we do not want current, we can go to the movies or watch Encore stations for that! i would not like to see TCM lose its biggest audiences because of their insistence at trying to shove current films down our throat, the mere delight at seeing Luise Rainer by such a young looking audience and the positive comments made here, should tell TCM that we watchers and lovers of TCM want exactly that classic films, classic faces and classic interviews (where still possible of course)....please keep the format that has made TCM successful all these years!
