my dear armand, garbo is in the guiness book of records as being the most beautiful woman who ever lived, she is the top rated in the book, four fabulous faces, and all photographers agreed in hollywood and out, that she had no bad angles, give me a break, where do you get your info?

if you love silents, catch her silents, they are all a beautiful thing to watch, i love silent romances because they really capture the mood of the story, you have to concentrate because of no dialogue, check out The Flesh and the Devil, The Temptress, Mysterious Lady,The Single Standard, all are just wonderful

it was on last night, and everyone knows and loves the film, but how many of you knew, and Robert Osborne told it last night, that both Greta and Ina Claire were involved with John Gilbert, Gilbert married Claire after Greta turned him down for the 5th time or so, to marry him, Greta never got over it, even though she did not wish to marry, she considered Gilbert to be her love. they were two professionals to carry the movie out, and Gilbert had been dead for 3 years already. just a bit of Hollywood knowledge on the side.

i totally agree, and how about The Painted Veil, and Conquest and believe it or not, Two Faced Woman is a very funny flick, and there is an uncensored version of that one too.

the term Classic to me means it has been around for a long time, it is a standard by which others judge the quality of films or whatever subject it may be.
so, TCM should stick to it..........i was not privileged to have TCM on my Cable TV for 17 years, on Long Island in NY we did not have it.............so, we missed out all these years on watching the films they throw on the crazy hour shift, i.e. Camille on at 6 AM on a Sunday morning, or a great silent film on at 2 AM in the morning.................please stop playing 1960 films and up, i can see them any time, PLEASE live up to the Golden Age of Movies that you should represent.
please put Cary, Greta, Bette, Joan, Gary, Edward G and Bogart on at respectable times so that we can see them, on the big TV....also, please play more of their lesser known films, it would be a real treat to those who missed your earlier years.
Also, put some of them on the covers of your What's Playing, they are pretty good cover!

yes, it is on the june schedule of the 1939 greatest year in hollywood tribute. unfortunately, GG only made the one film in 1939. what a pity and loss to movie land.

hooray, it is on tonight at 10 pm - nominated for best actress, best picture, etc. GWTW took all the oscars that year of 1939,,,,,,,,,,,,,,one of my favorite Garbo films and will be yours too if you give it a look

just watch anna christie and anna karenina, see how he brings out Garbo's magic in her first tralkie and one of her most endearing roles in these two films, i am just diappointed that none of his silents were shown, flesh and the devil and many more. it is just disappointing, but enjoy the ones they are showing

I BELIEVE IT WAS AT A WELL=KNOW FESTIVAL IN BELGIUM AND SO WAS TWO FACED WOMAN SHOWN, ANOTHER VICTIM OF CENSORSHIP.....These are American films with a naturalized US citizen as its star, Garbo became a US citizen in 1951...why cannot we view the entire film!

well Warners should get cracking, it is such a wonderful film,taken into consideration its years, TCM is the only place where we can have these treasures preserved, I have frequently contacted the powers that be, Warners and TCM - incidentally, the entire uncut version was recently aired at a film festival at a mid-western college, for a drama festival, so, it has been shown on our shores in the US and what a pity that this film is in Belgium, AN AMERICAN FILM!.

TCM when are you going to let us have the real thing, on this film....TCM always says UNCUT but this film was cut, butchered and censored.....come, give us a real treat - find it - it is in Brussels, Belgium, and show it!

i think the best acting in this film was done by Hebert Marshall, Bette overacts again!

I know that TCM is trying to attract a wider audience, per se, but please do not call the James Bond flicks Classic, please do not put them in the class of Garbo, Crawford, Davis, Bogart, Stanwyck, Gable, Tracy and Hepburn! That is just TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for this movie buff to consume without getting sick to its stomach........also, please do not play Woody Allen nonsense on this prestigous station! Keep up the main schedule, like this morning's for instance all those early talkies, they are great camp and fun to watch, also, please play some other films that are not in box sets of Garbo, Gable, etc.

plug. plug, ok, but if they showed the rest of Garbo's fillms, put out another box set, or at the very least the uncensored original UNCUT Mata Hari, then they could both Plug and SELL, baby, SELL!
