  1. <> ...........with razzleberry dressing...........
  2. SWM looking for sexy young female who doesn't mind an older very attractive man. Looking for a patient perfect looking gal who will: 1. Cook and serve me very soft foods 2. Distribute my numerous and various medications. 3. Listen to my stories about the "good ole days" producing the oldies but goodies! 4. Wax my car - oh wait - I had to get rid of the car...scratch that! 5. Drive me to the asylum on check-up days. 6. Escort me to the "weight watchers" meetings so I can finally lose these few extra 230 pounds. 7. Love me unconditionally until death do us part or you stop looking like the number 10 model that I deserve. Okay girls.......line forms at the right........single file please. Tom
  3. Oh wait!!!!!!! I just noticed you're 51 not 48......your chances just went way UP!!!!!!
  4. Do you really think you have a shot?? Let' see, 48 years old, no car, thinning hair and writing personal ads on the TCM message boards. Yes, I'm sure there are a number of Raquels waiting in the wings for you sir.
  5. <> This one isn't on the schedule is it Mongo?? I caught half of it a couple years ago and would love to see the rest of it! Tom
  6. Tom the Turkey sends Happy Thanksgiving wishes!
  7. are all ewe peeple trieing too saye that Leo caint spell????? Com-on........evreebuddy nose a righter hoo has pubblissed his werks has to at leest be abel to spell.......know? one more question: Is Swenden Northsouth from here?
  8. No wait! I think Leo means Edgar G. Robertson. The Swenden gangster film star.
  9. Leo! Are the Sweds running Swenden again?? Wow! I am your biggest fan Leo. Your writing skills really amaze me. Let me put it another way: Mans.....yous gots to bee za bestest writers in da worlds! Here's the "Leo challenge" of the month. Whenever TCM plays silent films and/or foreign films, shut the TV off and hit the grammar books. That way you can at least get a couple hours of studying in per week and maybe after a few years you could look into becoming a writer! Life is good.
  10. This Land Is Mine The Human Comedy Our Vines Have Tender Grapes Mr. Smith Goes To Washington It's A Wonderful Life The Man Who Came To Dinner From Here To Eternity The Search The Shop Around The Corner Captains Courageous The Clock The Old Maid Requiem For A Heavyweight Ride The Pink Horse whoops....I went a bit over.....oh well.....
  11. Daughters Courageous has been shown on TCM......I know they've shown it at least once in the past 2 years. Tom
  12. < Well Leo.....do you really want to know what many of us think? Well I for one think that you are beyond a moron......but that's just my thought; although I know I speak for others. I personally hate 50's-60's sci-fi. Do I think TCM should "can" them? No....because I happen to believe that certain people love them and who the heck am I? I'm no Leo Bertucelli........I'll tell you that. Thank God!
  13. Hey moirafinnie14........get the Wizard Of Oz DVD........I believe it has the best extras of any DVD I've ever purchased. tom
  14. Ben has gotten a tad better but he is still un-watchable in my book. He just reminds me of my high school days and the whiny cynical kid in my history class who complained about every lesson, every grade.....everything!!!! He wasn't a bad kid but nobody wanted to sit next to him.
  15. In my opinion, colorization of films made in black & white is artistic rape. I've never heard of even one director who supported it. It would be like taking a Beatles record and having Mariah Carey sing some back-up vocals to modern it up a bit. And the sad thing is that while they were being violated with color, most of the creators of these films weren't even here to offer an opinion. It sickens me. I recently bought a film on Ebay that ended up being a colorized version.....I threw it right in the trash.....I wouldn't even give it to someone. The first time I ever saw a colorized film was "It's A Wonderful Life".....I found myself staring at nostrils and hairlines the whole movie! Seems like they could never get those right... Yuck Tom
  16. I'd like to have another go at this...... Do I like Logos? No, I don't.....in fact...I hate them too.......but in the world of cable TV where every station I know uses logos......it becomes crystal clear to me that the these logos are not going away!!!!! So.....if we have to live with the occasional logo during the running of these films we enjoy so much.......I'll take TCM's logo over any other one I've ever seen......The TCM logo could be blue, green or red and spinning all the time........can you imagine that? At least theirs is almost transparent and basically colorless...... I work in the field of music licensing and while discussing this logo biz with a client, he informed me that all cable carriers now require all channels to have logos for a certain amount of time per hour.......I can't verify if this is true or not but it wouldn't surprise me. As far as being grateful to TCM........I for one am grateful to TCM...... like it or not and I know some will disagree with me but TCM would have higher ratings across the board if they showed more of the 70's & 80's films...... I know I wouldn't be watching but the average American Joe is going to turn on "Rocky 3" on a Saturday night quicker than "The Passion of Joan of Arc" (which was FABULOUS by the way!)......... One more thought and I think I've stated this here before......I am 41 years old and happen to be blessed with a lot of friends my age and I have only 1 friend that would even be slightly interested in watching black & white movies from the 20's-50's..........they all think I'm nuts.........and I find that younger people have even less interest in these old movies.....(there's always exceptions of course like the fine young people I've met through these boards!)..........but the bottom line is........TCM ain't going to be around for long so enjoy it while it lasts, record as much as you can and don't sweat the dang logo so much! Tom
  17. <<>> Keith.....the above is pure perfection. There are so many people in this country like logohater. They hate corporations, they hate big money, they hate war for oil, they hate everything (but c'mon...logos?).........but I've yet to see one of these b*stards put their a*s on the line and get rid of all the comforts that these "evils" bestow upon them. I think these kind of humans must have a cause in their life so when they go to bed at night and cover their heads with their comfy comforters they won't feel as guilty for all they have. But I'm old enough to have learned that NOTHING will change their attitude. Let them live in their very hypocritical and constant misery. Tom
  18. <> I believe you are right on classicsfan1119.....that was my original thought when I first read his/her post. But then again....who are we?? We are just the little "TV watchers!"
  19. Oh man.......I am backing up very slowly away from you logohater. I am willing to bet you have no friends........and if you do......I'm thanking God I never have to meet them. If you want to exist in this world without supporting the evil empire......you better sell everything you own and live on the street because evil or not it ain't going away and if it did go away......you wouldn't enjoy life. Want to live in a world with nothing to drive, nothing to eat and no electronics being manufactured to play your 5000 movies with. Your cause gets you nowhere........but what the heck....it passes your time anyway.
  20. <> You need therapy logohater......... TCM has to put their logo on the movies they broadcast occasionally.....there are many thiefs out there taping movies and selling them on ebay for huge bucks....... I can't even imagine you staying calm enough to enjoy a movie. Oh well... someday when TCM is off the air you will have to find a greater cause than the "money mongering" corporate devils called TCM! In the meantime.........keep up the good work TCM ! Tom (putty in the hands)
  21. <<<...I'm switching to a logo-free channel, now-->>> and which channel would that be logohater?? and what are they showing?? hmmmmmm????
  22. I don't know, after about 5 minutes of wearing 3D glasses, I usually end up cross-eyed and sick in the bathroom. I think I was constructed wrong. Tom
  23. >>ANY NETWORK THAT WOULD PROGRAM OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND & ESTHER WILLIAMS MOVIES OVER AUDREY & RITA IS A NETWORK THAT IS ABOUT TO FOLD!>> Uh Oh.........I see another "nut" has started to post. "A network that is about to fold" <----- ?????????????
