I Dream of Jeanie and The Matt Helms were originally produced by Columbia. These have not been released in any format. Th chances are slim to nill that they ever will be. Most of Columbia's original music masters apparently have been destroyed. What does survive Sony, who owns the Columbia catalog, will not release since it will not bring them tons of money. Old movie and TV soundtracks are a small niche market.

As with most movie sites (Thinking Encore), you can not submit a reminder request on the day the movie is showing.
Any day in the future you can, although I don't know if their reminder feature here works at all. I've never gotten one.

As far as I know, Turner owns the films. What they are probably talking about, though I am in no way one hundred percent positive, is the United Artist catalog, which MGM owns and a number of films are on lease to Turner to show.

leobertucelli - The reason TCM doesn't show this film, along with the so many others you mention, has to do with the rights to them.
China Gate is a 20th Century Fox film. Most of the broadcast rights to Fox films are held by American Movie Classics, Fox Movie Channel or Cinemax.

Yep, I've seen the movie. Bought it about a year and a half ago. It was commercially released on VHS. Not the worst movie I've seen, certainly not the best.

Per Criterion, I have no way of knowing for sure, but the most likely reason is their right to release the movie expired before they could issue a DVD. Their releases can only be in print for as long as they have an agreement with the copyright holder.
Such is the reason that their Notorious DVD disc is out of print, the copyright holder to the movie, ABC I believe, decided not to renew it with Criterion. The same fate befell a couple other Hitchcock movies that were released on Criterion DVD with the same copyright holder as Notorious.
-
Sorry, it has never been released on video or DVD.
I believe copyright is shared by The Harold Robbins Production Inc. and Universal. Or it might just belong to one of the two. Most likely (although I am not 100% sure.) it is Universal.

Gene Kelly - just don't like him, can't really explain it. I've taken to steering clear of his movies.
Lon Chaney Sr. - again, I can't explain it, I just don't like his movies, although I always try to watch them when they are on.
Katherine Hepburn - Good actress, but the "greatest". I do watch her movies.

The actual date is April 14. That day they give us a full day of Private Screenings followed by the first movie to air on TCM, Gone With the Wind.
Happy 10th birthday TCM.

I see listed for 2004 or 2005 After the Thin Man (36) and Another Thin Man (39). I don't see anything about a set.
-
per Fox Movie Channel. The only movies they can show are ones leased to them by 20th Century Fox. They do not own any movies themselves.

Doesn't look like it. TCM doesn't own it. Its not listed in the library.
-
I believe the Selznick Library is owned by Disney.
-
Released by Turner Home Ent. in 1990 on VHS. Now out of print. Several dealers list it at Amazon marketplace. Not released on DVD.

How many is too many. Most months TCM shows 4 or 5 silents, depending on how many Sundays are in the month. Chaplin being the star of the month pushes that number up. Personally, I feel they need to increase the number of silents.
As for Abbott and Costello, the only two in the library are in Hollywood and Meets Captain Kidd. Most of the Abbott and Costello films are owned by Universal, which is owned now by NBC, which also happens to own in part AMC, so if they leased them out, they would be helping the enemy (so to speak).

This is the link to where the June schedule will be
http://turnerclassicmovies.com/Schedule/Print/0,,06-2004|0|,00.html
-
Nope,
There is no set date. March's came out on Dec. 18 (roughly) April (Jan. 15) and May (Feb. 12) both again roughly. Sometime next week maybe, but it could be tomorrow or the week after next.
-
Nope,
June should be out later this month. July next month.
-
Well, I don't know about ALL of them, but there is a number they are showing.
Can't really be to picky when it comes to what Universal movies are shown anymore, with NBC now owning them.
-
For any who missed it, Lady for a Day is listed twice in May.
May 9 10:15 PM
May 18 7:45 AM

Maybe no letterbox versions exist. Maybe Pan and Scan was all TCM was able on lease from Fox. No, Misty does not air on Fox Movie Channel.
As for 'creating' a letterbox version from the P&S print. Do you think Fox would lease any more movies to TCM if they took the print they were permitted to use (P&S), then changed it in to something else (Letterbox).
This seems to be a case were they took what they could get to air, and let aspect ratio fall to the way side. After all, when leasing, its the right's holder to say what print you can show.

reprint?

Maybe they don't have the rights to show the complete print of the film. After all, they don't own the film, its leased from Warner Bros.
