Please watch it soon, and let me know what you think of her in *Manhattan Tower*. I love Noel Francis!

Guess I'll have to do a frame by frame analysis of my DVD of The Caine Mutiny to see if Lt Keefer is wearing a ring.

Fred, have you ever seen *Manhattan Tower* ? go to [www.archive.org|http://www.archive.org] and search Manhattan Tower. Similar movie, and watch for Noel Francis, she's great !

Mr Dobbs, the movie is on youtube, in its entirety, Helen Coburn appears about 10 minutes into the film.

Tonight is "Rhonda" night.

I believe that the "full plot synopsis" is written for people who are too cheap to buy a tv or pay for any cable/satellite service.
This reminds me of when I did book reports in high school by reading the Classics Illustrated comic books. I got an A for my report on "House Of The Seven Gables", don't forget to take the actual book out of the school library. -
She didn't have much luck in her broadway plays either, one played for about 2 months, the other two closed really quick. I looked up "Skyscraper Souls 1932" on the image pages, is she in any of those shown? Sorry, I didn't see the film.

At first I had trouble getting the site to come up, but eventually it worked. Great article, nice to read the comments about William Powell being a good man to work with on and off the sets.

Clark Gable as General K C Dennis in *Command Decision* . Struggling with balancing the costs of human life and the objective of winning the war.

I think Bob did just fine, I value his presence and can tolerate the little miscues he may make. I think we all agree that the "script writers" have got to do a better job at their research and proofreading the material for him. I also believe it would be better if the work load on Bob were reduced , let someone else help pull the load a little. Instead of him doing 4 films a night (on average) he could do 2 and some other host could do the balance. Or why must he be on all 7 days, give him a couple of days "off" each week and have a guest host fill in. That's what Johnny Carson did on the Tonight Show. I want Bob to be with us for a long time and have the opportunity to work in a way that lets him be at his best.

I like *Crossroads* a lot, like many other earlier (pre *Double Indemnity* ) films it does have some "noir" elements. This could have been a good Hitchcock film too. If *Crossroads* had been made in the late 40's it might have been done a lot darker, grittier, like a true film noir.

I get the sense that William Powell set the standard for those other guys , no disrespect to them but Powell was the best.

It would really be great if Robert Osborne could have some brief interview time with Doris Day , even if it isn't in a sit down face to face studio format. It could be an audio interview, over the phone type of deal, with visual clips of her career as a background. He would ask intelligent , thoughtful questions about how she's doing today, her thoughts, reflections on her career, etc. She could maintain the level of privacy she values (and we all should respect) and yet her many fans could get a sense of comfort knowing that she is well and enjoying her life today.

Nice reading this RO interview. Sounds like all is well with our great classic film host. Now all we need is to wait for the reviews on Bob's dental work.

Maybe it wasn't a wedding ring? I'm thinking of one of those Cracker Jack prizes in the box.

I second Virginia Bruce !

Eli Wallach was in *The Lineup* with Robert Keith

I would like to see an emphasis on stars not yet honored and many character/supporting actors/actresses could be on that list. Oh, and yes, if he doesn't get a SOTM honor, *Joel McCrea* , at least give him a day!!

Keep some ice near the DVR to keep it from overheating.

Interesting reading about the Errol Flynn accounts here, it would be nice to know a little more about the "facts" but I don't see anything wrong with a little "storytelling" if that's what Mel Brooks has done. There's nothing malicious with Mel's story. Sadly its true that Flynn's later years were not very flattering. -- As for Basil Rathbone, he had a reputation for being a fun loving character, not anything like his usual screen persona. I'm surprised that Basil didn't do a few more film roles in a comedic way, maybe he just didn't think that the public would buy into it.

Who was Helen Coburn? She made only one movie.
