You can say that again. he's here april! wait for it....wait for it......he just needs to take a couple more steps. Or like a silly girl not eating fattening food until they go on vacation. heehee! very funny! forget the wait, grab the bucket and dump it! You must have fast-forwarded through half of Random Harvest. The meaning behind the title is that Smithy randomly harvests victims. Paula has to go undercover as a secretary to try and catch Smithy, but will she become his next victim? It's rather compelling. You really need to watch the film without using the FF button. you just insulted my favorite movie! i would never use the fast-forward button on Random Harvest.i havent seen the beginning huh? i have it memorized! and nowhere do i see smithy randomly harvesting victims.....he isnt jack the ripper! paula was his "motherly help", you said so yourself, but i still dont think of it that way. goodness! I'm not a Smithy. I'm not a murderer. not that we know of! oh im sory are you still here frankie? heehee! I think he'd "drop it" in a guy's back. smithy is hearing all of this and he is so heart broken by what you are saying about him. poor smithy! paula is going to give him a big hug now, he needs it! -
I am usually the kind of girl to swoon for a pencil thin mustache oh you mean like david bniven or bill powell? (sighs) im with ya jackie. heehee! mr mcqueen isnt so bad himself. heehee! i love that song sheryl crow does about him called, "steve mcqueen", without the one bad word in it and in the video, she could dress a little more decent, but i like the song anyway, all his movies run through my mind when i hear it. heehee!

yes i think it is on DVD. i think i saw it on Ebay not too long ago. you might want to check amazon. i was just there. i wanna get that one so badly! this movie always reminds me of that Monkees song, "pleasant valley sunday". i guess its because they have similar titles. heehee! -
i looooove dick powell movies, i just love his mysterious look and that voice! heehee! oh we cant forget inspector clouseau! he is an important addition to the classic collection! heehee!

Every time I watch The Two Mrs Carrolls I want to change the ending because in the beginning he's so charming! Of course, then you wouldn't have a movie funny you shouldsay that. before grandmama showed me this movie, she told me the ending, b/c she said it might not be one of my favs, and i asked why, so she told me. then i turned my nose up at it, but she said there would be no movies if they did it differently, so i watched it to see if i would actually like it and i didnt think it was that bad of a movie.
-
yes the version grandmama and i have is very staticy. i would love for this gorgeous color movie to be released in restored form! hey i remember Ride, Vacquero!. wow! i havent seen that one in a while, i should ask grandmama for that VHS again. ooh mr, taylor is absolutely handsome in that one with ava.
-

-
oh my goodness! thank you mestie! one of my favs in that group of excruciatingly handsome guys....glenn ford!!! i love that one. that one with clara bow is my favorite movies of her....True to the Navy!! oh im in heaven with all these sailors! where's my hanky to mop up the drool? heehee!

hey dahlink! Sun Valley Serenade is one my my fav musicals too! i cant believe this! i loved the the great glenn miller was in it! you dont see many movies with glenn. he was also in Orchestra Wives as Gene Morisson. i loooove both of these movies, but Sune Valley Serenade is definitely at the top of my list! john payne was another cutie, who just happened to be one of her many costars. i love them together. i also loved her with cesar romero! how different can you get with those two? heehee! but they actually acted well together. -

i love sonja henie's movies. i think she was very underrated as an actress and people leaned more toward great skater as her great characteristic. but i do love her skating! she won three gold medals in the Olypics! how amazing! she always told a story with her skating. some skaters are just plain with no grace and gift of flowing to the rhythm of the skating, but she always had that.

"Brigadoon'" Blooms Again on Broadway

I loved all the dance sequences in that quaint little town. I've always wanted to live somewhere cute like that. I liked Van in this too! The only thing I wasn't so crazy about was Cyd. It just didn't seem like her heart was in the role. I don't think she was giving it all she could. It's not just me, right? Did anyone else notice? Over all though, it was great! thank you genekgirl!! cyd's heart wasnt in this role. she could have put a little more thought in to it, but the movie in general i love! i just dont like cyd charise in more of her films. to me, she wasnt that great of an actor. she was pretty and could dance though.....i do like her in The Harvey Girls. -
He looks GREAT in a trench coat! Actually, lots of actors did: Mitchum, Gable, Coop, Alan Ladd... oh yes! i thank you for posting that pic! i especially love allan ladd in the trench coat. he looks so HANDSOME in the with the hat and everything like robbie. what a man! i thi nk gary looks exceptionally handsome in the trenchcoat, but then i prefer him in overalls, evidently, sicne my dreams all have him in them, heehee! i wish they didnt throw him in that barrell in the first place! i started to talk to the screen, "where did robbie go?!" heehee!

I wanted to add that the exceptions might be The Cain Mutiny, The Two Mrs Carrolls and In a Lonely Place, where Bogie played neurotic characters that by their nature tended to overreact to situations. well over look those little details for bogie's sake. heehee! but for characters such as "neurotic" as they are, that quality is sort of the exception to the overacting rule isnt it?
