Dedgdvils Fodd Cake?munch munch.... Ooops.(Gulp) Sorry. I ate it!
oh yes he loves devil's food cake. dont you remember? he loves pinching them at our tea parties! heehee! he must not get pais enough as our butler, b/c he feels the need to do this quite frequently. heehee!
thats okay, i just happen to have a spar cake in the fridge. you just feel then eed to eat the rest of that cake and enjoy yourself! you deserve it, especially from the dutchman furter picking on us so much. goodness!
sweet Butterscotch.......glad you're back, in your lovely gown--- tell us all about it
well i have gotten very friendly with the owner of this dress boutique, b/c she designedd every dress in it, and we have talked a lot aboutdress designing b/c i make my own dresses too, but i wanted to buy an extravagant one for a change. heehee! i got it for my small graduation that is suppose to be this year, but i graduated last year and we didnt know it until just recently. its a long story... heehee!...i decided to celebrate with the rest of my class that i graduated the 8th grade with, since i didnt go to a real high school, so they invited me to all their real graduations.
since i didnt ever get a real one for myself, my parents and both sets of grandparents are taking me to the Driskol Hotel, which is very extravagant and fancy, for dinner and they let me get a formal dress, since i never got to go to prom(i was homeschooled). its very funny, b/c the owner of the boutique gave her opinion on my dress and she commented, "you dont looke like a college student anymore in that dress." she is just the sweetest person really! heehee!ill have to show yall pics of this dress. it is so pretty!

You and your imaginary friend would have me sipping tea at some snobby ball while wearing a silly outfit.
hey i think all men look handsome in a tuxedo. i think you should try one on...i bet my imaginary friend would think you are handsome in it too....and a little tea never hurts anyone, it better not by the amount that sweet april and i drink. heehee!
That's exactly how I feel about Pride and Prejudice. I don't want to be haunted by such psychotic trash.
would you please enlighten me on why exactly would pride and prejudice be haunting you? i could understand norman bates haunting me, by stabbing me in the shower, but what would elizabeth bennett do to you, tie you to a chair and make you listen to mozart all day? gee, that actually sounds like a plan! mozart is so much better for you instead of rap, silly goose.
This is what those trashy Austen novels do to girls like you. You're probably going to bowl in your gown and go skiing in your gown and climb rocks in your gown. Sigh. What color is it?
heehee! thats funny. i wouldnt ever climb rocks in this gown! i wear my workout clothes to do that silly. i think i would freeze in this gown while skiing too. what do you mean by sighing at me like that? thats my job! heehee!
its black by the way. i looooove the style of it, b/c it was soooooo 30s, but they didnt have it in any other color. there was a blue dress that i would rather have gotten, but the front was a v-neck and a little too low. heehee! the sleeves are a sash with silver beads stretching across my shoulders and chest and hanging down in the back. its so pretty, just like something loretta young would have worn in The Unguarded Hour or something from one of her movies with ty power. im a happy little trooper. heehee!
I better increase my insult dosage for you.
oh no! so overwhelming as it is! heehee! i have a feeling i might die of migranes haeding my way!

Prissy!
that makes me giggle! my other grandma used to call me little miss prissy all the time....it still slips up every once in a while. heehee!
so RATTY to you to! heehee
-
oh april i could give you an enormous hug!!!! thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! heehee! do you think its enough thank yous? nah, never enough. thank you thank you thank you thank you. heehee!
every time this scene comes on, i always call grandmama to the room if she is doing something else in the house, b/c that is our favorite scenes and it NEVEr gets old! heehee! that one and the scene that you already posted when they first kiss. heehee!
its like that for Rooster Cogburn too, with me and grandmama, except he never kisses kate, and it was a let down for me! i wanted them to at least kiss at the end. nevertheless, it had some great parts in it too.

im sorry i wore you out dahlink! if it is that much exhausting, ill never ask again! heehee! you have to have your strangth for our tea parties......and to help me dorwn ol' mr, honey boy. heehee!
-
I love Hitch and Alma! Maddy Carroll is a doll! Cary Grant is my second favorite actor. I'm definitely not an English hater. I merely dislike the priss and proper.
yes you are! you need miss jane austen to spruce you up a bit. maybe elizabeth bennett could whipe you into shape. i know if they cant, me and april could certainly do such a deed!
Real characters are Max Cady and Norman Bates. Don't you just love them?
they may be to you, but they scare me to death. if i had watched those movies last night, i would have never gotten to sleep. the only reason i think of those guys as real, is b/c after i see them in the movie, they are still in my mind as psychotic as they are, haunting me!
Your brand of love and discipline is me going to a British ball with a bunch of snobs.
yes! it might make you a bit more......gallant. heehee! you are rough enough as it is. heehee!
i actually just bought a floor length dress. it looks exactly like the evening dress style katherine hepburn and loretta young wore in the '30s. i look so classy in it and now i finally have bought a formal dress to wear to my first ball......actually that would be in my dreams heehee, its only for my graduation that was suppose to be last year. heehee!
Do you always giggle when you cry? Is this what Jane Austen taught you gals to do? Y'all messed up.
wehn im with you, not only do i get migranes, but i also laugh so hard that i start crying. heehee! jane austen was a perfect role model thank you very much!
-
oh thats a great scene! thank you april! im always in heaven when i see this movie! i love how they are always getting into arguments and then they somehow make up and say, "pax" and shake hands except for the end when he lifted her up and gave her a spanking. that was rather hilarious.
could you also post the scenes with the bathing suit? thats the BEST scene!
please! puppy dog eyes alert! heehee! i love that polynesian music by the way. right up our alley. heehee!

Well, Sweet Tea (aka "Miss P&P"), it looks like Jane Austen is starting to have an effect on him, even if our spells haven't. He's actually taking to writing in proper English. And did you notice the reference to Russell Square? What's an English-hater like FrankGrimes doing even knowing what a Russell Square is or where.
miss P&P? i like that one! heehee! i like mrs. darcy too. heehee! it must be jane austen! he wasnt on our spell at this time, b/c i wasnt here! jane is our new secret weapon against the honey ratty dutchman! i knew i always loved miss austen. heehee! actually i did before i knew him. heehee! this is true, he is an english-hater! he hates my elizabeth bennett AND mr, darcy! how could even honey boy hate them? they are some of the best characters ever......they dont evne seem like characters to me! like scarlett and rhett, they are so real! and frankie has to go hating them. i have tears coming!

I suspect, Mr Grimes, you protest too much.
how truer can this statement be? i think he just needs a little more love and discipline!
okay jackie, i found the rope! april get the chocolate, and jackie, you get the devil's food cake to gag him! heehee!
So Pride and Prejudice is not a dreamland story for girly-girls? It lacks priss? And did you say Gloria Grahame plays "Elizabeth Bennet"?
(GASPS)!!!!!!! (runs to my bedroom and throws myself onto my bed in tears!) heehee!
-
No problemo! In the meantime, you can try to allay Mr Grimes' worst fears. He seems to think I poisoned you or something
well i think we can both relieve him of this horrid thought! you would never do such cruel thing to me! we are related for crying out loud! heehee! frankie just doesnt understand this. tsk. tsk.

-
Well look who's popped in? A sweet Texas breeze. Howdy Miss Breezy. I will see what I can do about that special request. Are you going to be around a while because it may take a little time?
heehee! yes im back! ill be around for a while. take your time, i dont want to rush anyone.
thanks a bunches!! -
you guys made me be in the mood for Donovan's Reef, so i put it on last night, b/c i hadnt seen it in a while. i STILL laugh so had to it. i just love john wayne in this movie soooooooo much! it is such a cute romance and one of my favorites!
i wonder if a certain sweet big sis of mine around here would possibly mind posting a few more screencaps from a few scenes for me. heehee!
-
You can say that again.
he's here april! wait for it....wait for it......he just needs to take a couple more steps.
Or like a silly girl not eating fattening food until they go on vacation.
heehee! very funny! forget the wait, grab the bucket and dump it!
You must have fast-forwarded through half of Random Harvest. The meaning behind the title is that Smithy randomly harvests victims. Paula has to go undercover as a secretary to try and catch Smithy, but will she become his next victim? It's rather compelling. You really need to watch the film without using the FF button.
you just insulted my favorite movie! i would never use the fast-forward button on Random Harvest.i havent seen the beginning huh? i have it memorized! and nowhere do i see smithy randomly harvesting victims.....he isnt jack the ripper! paula was his "motherly help", you said so yourself, but i still dont think of it that way. goodness!
I'm not a Smithy. I'm not a murderer.
not that we know of! oh im sory are you still here frankie? heehee!
I think he'd "drop it" in a guy's back.
smithy is hearing all of this and he is so heart broken by what you are saying about him. poor smithy! paula is going to give him a big hug now, he needs it!
-
I am usually the kind of girl to swoon for a pencil thin mustache
oh you mean like david bniven or bill powell? (sighs) im with ya jackie. heehee! mr mcqueen isnt so bad himself. heehee! i love that song sheryl crow does about him called, "steve mcqueen", without the one bad word in it and in the video, she could dress a little more decent, but i like the song anyway, all his movies run through my mind when i hear it. heehee!
-
yes i think it is on DVD. i think i saw it on Ebay not too long ago. you might want to check amazon. i was just there. i wanna get that one so badly!
this movie always reminds me of that Monkees song, "pleasant valley sunday". i guess its because they have similar titles. heehee!
-
i looooove dick powell movies, i just love his mysterious look and that voice! heehee!
oh we cant forget inspector clouseau! he is an important addition to the classic collection! heehee!
-
oh yes i loved them as a couple! im definitely a sucker for the happy ending ones. heehee! you know....where the guy oicks the girl up and they kiss and then it ends? im tearing up! heehee!
-
yeah we'll just get bronxie's dragon to turn up the heat so the dutchman can melt. heehee!
-
hey metsie, ill send you a pm real quick.
-
i personally didnt like robert in The Women too much, but i did like his character in Westward.
-
Every time I watch The Two Mrs Carrolls I want to change the ending because in the beginning he's so charming! Of course, then you wouldn't have a movie
funny you shouldsay that. before grandmama showed me this movie, she told me the ending, b/c she said it might not be one of my favs, and i asked why, so she told me. then i turned my nose up at it, but she said there would be no movies if they did it differently, so i watched it to see if i would actually like it and i didnt think it was that bad of a movie.
-
yes the version grandmama and i have is very staticy. i would love for this gorgeous color movie to be released in restored form! hey i remember Ride, Vacquero!. wow! i havent seen that one in a while, i should ask grandmama for that VHS again. ooh mr, taylor is absolutely handsome in that one with ava.
-
oh thank you jackie! you are such a gem for showing us that fabulous looking sailor!
-
oh my goodness! thank you mestie! one of my favs in that group of excruciatingly handsome guys....glenn ford!!! i love that one. that one with clara bow is my favorite movies of her....True to the Navy!! oh im in heaven with all these sailors! where's my hanky to mop up the drool? heehee!
-
im definitely slipping, i forgot frankie too! oy vey! we cant forget him.....how about dick powell? phew!
-
hiya cinie! im so ashamed of myself for forgetting about bogie and the trenchcoat. and me and april were just chatting about him. im losing it today. heehee! oopsy daisies!
-
hey dahlink!
Sun Valley Serenade is one my my fav musicals too! i cant believe this!
i loved the the great glenn miller was in it! you dont see many movies with glenn. he was also in Orchestra Wives as Gene Morisson. i loooove both of these movies, but Sune Valley Serenade is definitely at the top of my list! john payne was another cutie, who just happened to be one of her many costars. i love them together. i also loved her with cesar romero! how different can you get with those two? heehee! but they actually acted well together.

Ford at Fox... and RKO, and MGM, and WB, and Columbia...

You're very welcome, dahlink! And it's a pleasure, I don't mind you can always ask. I was really worn out from being hounded out of Tara by a Yankee dutchman.
oh thank you dahlink! heehee! when's our next tea party? we will have to make sure the yankee dutchman cant steal the devil's food cake. if we hire him as our butler again, we will have to come up with something.
I know!! I want them to marry and become a sweet old cantankerous couple at the end! They already act married! I love the way Kate calls him "Reuben".
and what a cantakerous couple they would have been. you know, my duke could have at least pulled her off the house to kiss her passionately, but no! he just said that he would remember her and she him, and they parted! how wrong! heehee! i loved that she called him "Reuben". i bet he wouldnt have allowed ANYONE else to call him that except for her.
i loved the scene where she dozes off to sleep and he sneaks in that drink and she somehow knows hes drinking, so while her eyes are closed, she tells him not to drink it....and he gets all mad. its too cute and funny! they do act married all throughout the movie.....i wish they would have been paired in another movie together in their younger years too. that would have been awesome and im surely i would have loved it!
