hey sis! which movies are you wanting us to ask scenes from, or are you asking for just any gary movie?
-
my mother has said multiple times that frankie has too skinny of a body and watched his movies with gene kelly all the time, therefore she tends to compare them to each other, even thought they have nothing whatsoever in common ecxept for the fact that they are both cute in my eyes. i still say he was cute even if he was skinnier than gene, what do you say?
-
hey iloveraymilland! this is so great, thanks for that info. i just love frankie's recordings, no matter what time of his life they were recorded, even though towards the end of his life, you could tell that he smoked and drank for most of his life. nevertheless, i will always think his voice is so harmonious and will bring a smile to my face for years to come. what is your favorite song by him? theresa

?Mr. Arkadin? = gobble, gobble, gobble
butterscotchgreer replied to FredCDobbs's topic in General Discussions
i watched Mr. Arkadin yesterday when it was on, and it was to say the least quite interesting. i thought i wouldnt like it, b/c im not an avid fan of orson welles, but i didnt mind this one. paola mori was quite pretty here and i thought she looked a little like Gina Lollobrigida. maybe i was seeing things, but when i first saw herin the movie i could have sworn it was her. i thought welles gave a great performance as well as akim tamiroff. -
hey bronxie!!! I think the only way you'd watch P&P is if it was a noir version starring another GG and had Humphrey Bogart as Mr. Darcy. gloria grahame and bogie? in pride and prejudice? goodness me what will you think of next? heehee! i would like to have seen greer with bogie in The African Queen, in which they did the lux radio version together and were extremely fantastic and energetic! i dont thik i could see bogie as mr. darcy though. for me larry olivier will always be my mr, dacry and maybe colin firth on occasion, but bori? my goodness. heehee! you know bronxie, i think we should look into that movie with alligators taking a hold of greer. it might be intriguing. heehee!

I did not say I was a womanizing connoisseur you may not have said it, but me and april guessed it. heehee! I'm gonna ban Greer films if my squad loses tonight. And I'm gonna send you to that american institution. you arent really going to limit all of greer's films out of your future viewings are you? i cant believe they lost last night!! its all my fault! im ahsamed of myself!!! dramaticism is a vitality. heehee! You're either a sour jinx or a sweet good luck charm. its official, im a sour jinx. whatever will i do?! No, no, no. I merely want to save you from the bad influences that surround you that may be your excuse, but when i step in that tower ill be watchiing out for you to be around with a saw. I hope you're imaginary friend doesn't kill you. That would be horrible. REDRUM. LIRPA. april would never do anything like that......i hope. heehee! i was referencing Top Secret! silly. heehee! i was trying to get you to watch Sound of Music, but i was referencing Top Secret!

A very sour blueberry to you maybe. Patrick Dempsey made a big mistake. He should have put her away immediately. I think Smithy would also put you away if you mentioned your sweet blueberry. smithy would never do such a thing!! smithy would love me.....well i hope he would love me. if patrick dempsey would have put her away, then he wouldnt have married her nad lived happily ever after with her and his daughter!! how mean to deprive him of his love! That's my point. Indecorous women are still women. so are you saying im indecorous? I hope you do! I could only see the one photo and you are right, she's really sweet and innocent looking in that pic. Thank you, Super Sweet T! which one can you see? i have two up there for you. i will find more surely!....but you have to watch pride and prejudice first. heehee! -

Don't worry, you are nowhere near as sour as your duet partner. They don't make 'em any more sour than that april isnt a sourpuss! april is a sweet blueberry! now say youre sorry! Do you think a friendly guy will see you wandering the streets and take you in and care for you? I'm guessing not. The second you mention your imaginary friend, they'll send you to the institution, where you belong. in ENCHANTED patrick dempsey didnt put princess Giselle into an institution when he picked her up off the streets. poor baby was wandering around new york looking for her prince and couldnt find him!! patrick dempsey thought the prince was her imaginary friend! actually he wanted to put her into one, but he fell in love with her too quickly. so do you honestly think smithy would send me to one? But indecorous women are merely women wanting to be loved. that narrows it down to about 99% of the women in thie planet, silly goose. heehee! I'd like it! I'd like it! i could find more, im surely! -

Who said Celine was sour? She's trashy, though. you just did!....or was it....(GASPS) you were describing me?!!!!! im speechless, i dunno what to say you sod-buster! heehee! Miss Finishing School Girl cannot be the same girl you call "sweet and innocent." No way, no how. I'm calling the mental institution right now. You sit tight. that one takes the cake! ill secretly sneek out while you call the mental institution. heehee! Ohhh, Marlene. Amy Jolly is mighty fine. I can picture me with her. i actually didnt mind her as Amy Jolly, but she isnt my favorite character. she is an "indecorous" woman! Any photo of Gloria Grahame is welcome by me, but the one you posted is one of the sweetest I have seen of her. well ill post another one, i found another "sweet and innocent one" if you would like it. -
i think he is too "macho" to sing in the shower, april. heehee! by the way, im just lovin these screen caps!! our robbie ryan looks beyond gorgeous in that movie, but i have only seen it once and i dont remember that scene in the tub. its real funny though. i saw it quite a few years ago at grandmama's house.

I'm a dirty sod-buster. I'll look to take a shower. And I'm not speakin' of a lead shower, Missy. you heard him say it april. he admitted he was a sod-buster! he's a womanizing connoisseur!!! when you take a shower, look to use some soap. it might help the place smell a little fresher. heehee I'll lavish much love your way if your posting today ends up helping me out. You know what, if they win tonight, I'll watch Pride and Prejudice. That's how delirious I'll be. are you serious? you will actually watch pride and prejudice if they win tonight?!! im so excited all the sudden!! I'll lavish much pain your way if your posting today ends up being a jinx. No more Greer films for me. my excitement just went away......what do you mean no more greer films. you HAVE to watch pride and prejudice frankie. its a moral imperative.. AND an american instituition. heehee! yeah thats me the jinx. why am i always the jinx? oh thats right, im sour....that one deserves a good giggle! Run to the clock tower. You'll be safe there. safe there? ha! and as soon as i reach the clock tower and start climbing the ladder to get to the high safe place, the ladder will split in half and ill fall to my death! april, frankie wants to kill me!! Do silly gooses sink? i rest my case!! Are you still playing with your imaginary friend? Is she a doll? yes she is a doll! at least april wouldnt want to kill me! auf Wiedersehen heehee! Yay! if you were paying attention to The Sound of Music when your grandpa was watching it that day at the end, eleanor parker says that to christopher plummer in this really amazing way. i always try to say it like she did. heehee! but seeing as you dont fancy that movie you probably werent paying attention were you?

Hola, ButtersourCELINE -- now what did we talk about when calling sweet innocent april a floozy? heehee! oh now im sour celine. i hate to burst your bubble frankie, but celine isnt sour. Whoever this sweet innocent April is, I sure as heck don't know her. You constantly bring this imaginary girl's name up, too. Have you bumped your head again, Mrs. Smithy? I'm thinking another stay at the institute would serve you well. you may know her by miss finishing school. personally i wouldnt call her that, but you may recognize it as we go. heehee! i love the claire trevor and duke pic! so romantic! somehow i could just picture mr. frankie with her....maybe thats not so hard. I like Dallas! She's a lovely, misunderstood dame. She would be easy to get along with. i meant to say that i could picture you with marlene dietrich over there, but forgot to state her name. heehee! I LOVED the Gloria Grahame pic! She looks so very sweet and innocent in that photo. Kind of like your imaginary friend. I really liked the left-hand pic of Marlene. She's super-soft in that photo. And the photo of Maureen in the sequined dress is one of my favorites of her. Thanks for posting those! i thought you might like that gloria grahame pic. heehee! your welcome frankie meanie/sweetie! -

Beautiful pics of Maureen! I just love it when you can find color pictures of red-headed actresses---in my opinion black-and-white photography doesn't do them enough justice. oh yes i agree. everytime i try to find pics of any red-head i always look for color ones first. they justify that bright red hair more so than with plain black and white! especially dealing with the flaming red-heads like greer, maureen and lucy and all the other techini-color beauties out there. -
I'm just looking for a scapegoat. If they win tonight, you'll be my pride and joy. oh pride and joy? how sweet! But if they lose.... oh no. i dont like that tone of writing. april (gulp) help me. i feel like loretta young in The Stranger, and you would be orson welles......im running! Yes, you chat a lot. Me, on the other, I'm the weak, silent type. well that sinks the duck! Who are we throwing a parade for? Au revoir! we are throwing a parade for april! she is to be congratulated! as well as the gary thread! auf Wiedersehen heehee!

I love "Kiss Me Kate"!!!! I think Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson were definitely one of the greatest musical pairs. They made "Kiss Me Kate", "Show Boat", and "Lovely To Look At". I can't remember if they made any others. they were one of the greatest musical pairs!! i so agree with you. they didnt do asny other movies together other than those three, but i love each one, especially Kiss Me Kate! i love Show Boat and Lovely to Look At too. they are quite charming and full of wonderful songs i an in love with. do you like the Champions? Marge and Gower were so amazing when dancing together. i was so heart broken when i found they were divorced after all those movies they were in together. they were also in another movie with Howard Keel and Essy Williams....Jupitor's Darling. oh it is too cute! that song, "I Hate Men" always cracks me up!
-

Penguins are my favorite bird. I hope they never fly and that way you won't have to watch that yucky movie, either. mine too. let's hope they never learn to flap those cute little wings then. i love the way they waddle. heehee!
