hey Ava!!!
oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day!
so far i have loved each and every single barbra movie there is with the exception of Owl and the Pussycat. i cant stand the movie but thought she looked gorgeous in it. i guess it wasnt in my cuppa tea range. heehee! believe it or not i have the entire of Hello, Dolly memorized. i was at grandmama's house watching that one day saying all the lines as they were coming in those exact voices. i could do babs pretty well in that movie and one of my family members came into tjhe living room where i was and just stood behind me the whoel time without my knowledge. after the movie was over i heard clapping in the background. i didnt even know they were back there! heehee! they said i could play Dolly Levi real good on broadway if i wanted to. heehee! i found that funny!
i have the whole of Funny Girl memorized too. those are my two favorites of hers!
thats cool you like the Way We Were, i love her with robby radford in that one. handsome!!!! i always cry to that one! ofcourse i always end up in tears at the end of Funny girl as well. heehee! you cant help it, when you see her in tears on stage trying to sing about her love when he left her! uh! where's my hanky?!

It's his multiple personalities emerging again, Theresa. Vlad, The Wolf Man, The Weenie King, they are all out in full force.
i dont think i can handle his sybil right now! heehee! this is tragic.
"they have doctors for that kind of thing!" that line always cracks me up!

hey frankie furter(im just a girl who cant say no!) heehee!
Overalls Coop must have called you those awful names in your dreams. I'd never do such a thing. I'm always full of love.
he would never call me those names especially in my dreams. they are always sweet when he appears in them!...and then i have nightmares about a certain someone who meets me and decides he doesnt like me for whatever reason!
-
Now why is staying away from me being smart? I would only speak to her in the most loving terms, just as I do you and the very sweet and kind "A" girls.
boy youre wishy washy. heehee! first we are sneaky, meanies, floozy, indecorous girls, and now we are king and sweet. well which is it? heehee!
-
I merely dislike you with a passion.
well at least youre honest about it. heehee!
Do you know where Mrs. Cooper went, Meanie Mint? I'm starting to get worried. The last I heard, she was hanging curtains in the Thunderdome.
no frankie darlin'/meanie. she is being smart and staying away from you. heehee!

Hi Theresa, Wow! A Man`s Castle" will finally be shown on TCM Monday, June 30 at 10am. I have waited a long time to see the film where Loretta and Spencer Tracy fell in love.TCm will also be showing "Bedtime Story" in June. They have enough films of Loretta`s in their vaults to give her serious consideration for SOTM.A night of Loretta`s pre code films would be very desirable..
!
yeah i saw that! i got so excited, even though i have it. heehee! i hope you like it when you see it! you have to tell me what you think of it!

good morning laffite!!
great pic, i should know that one, but i cant put my finger on it. banana oil! heehee!
-
hey ava!!
your welcome!

how are you this loverly morning? the first babs movie i watched was Hello, Dolly and was hooked on that voice from then on. im not a fan of her personal life, but that voice of her's i cant stay away from. heehee!
i love Funny Lady as well, but the language in that one is a bit over-bearing at times, but i just love her humor in it and the songs are as usual brilliant! what other babs movies do you like?

Ohh, for goodness sake. I cannot believe you actually cry in your dreams, too. For a girl who wants to drown guys in chocolate, you're such an emotional girl.
well im sorry, i dont mean to!! do you hate me now or what?
i love those pics though. i love that movie of course, and that (ironically) is one of my favorite scenes. heehee!

oh thank you jackie! see she is a sweetheart frankie! heehee! no he doesnt have to overalls on, but i do think he is CUTE in them. i guess thats why i keep dreaming about him in them. that might be one reason.

THANKS AGAIN!

G'day, ButterTea---I have already moved on to Hangman's House, but if I get back to 4M&aP, I'll find and post those requested caps. I was busy finding the ones with Georgie in his undershirt!
im sorry, heehee! i cant just focus on georgie, although i love him. i have to focus on all ofthem, b/c they are all extremely cute and lovable! i like Hangman's House too, i cant wait to see those, but am not quite as fond of that one as i am for 4M&aP. heehee!

i would love it if gary would blow in my ear at dinner. heehee! although i hope neither of us are drunk when this happens.

-
hey sweet april! good day to you too!
bulls eye! you caught all the best moments......could you possible catch the scene where she unexpectedly shows up at that table behind the menu and they go outside and kiss? (sighs)
oh i see you got which "bear" outfit i was talking about. heehee! oh hadsome Richy is so beautiful!
you can just see the confusion on poor david's face! loretta and richard were really a cute couple here. he could never seem to go anywhere without her suddenly popping up! heehee!

No we weren't in a jungle, that was my first thought too when I woke up and it was cracking me up.
the one and only dream i had of him in a tuxedo we were actually in the jungle and i woke up in hysterics too.
That stinks!! I had another short dream too where I was cuddled up next to him in this big oversized chair. He looked like he did in Man of the West. I've had a couple like that and they're so sweet .
dont i know it! its weird that your gary dreams keep getting shorter, mine keep getting longer, but i wont rub that in. heehee!
i dont think you told me about that Man of the West dream. that sounds like it was cute!i had one not too long ago, maybe a week ago; a short one where he was in that kilt from Seven Days' Leave sitting on a couch playing these bag pipes. we were married in that dream and it was weird b/c one minutes he was playing with an airplane model, and i left the room to get him something i forget what, and when i came back he had that kilt on with bagpipes in his lap. then the dream cut off and i woke up. it was the strangest gary dream i have had yet! but he was so cute and that's what counts in these dreams right!

they are doing the Tapioca! sweet little jimmy over there couldnt do that saurcraut or the frankfurter, so he went with the Tapioca. heehee!
one of my favorite memories from one of my favorite musicals is, "SOY SAUCE!"
-
Funny Girl is one of my all time favorite old movies, especially in my musical section. heehee!
"i'm like a bagel on a plateful of onion rolls".
"would you like a bit of pat'e?"(i dont know how to spell that. heehee)
"oh i drink it all day"

-
oh thank you whistlingypsy!!!
i absolutely love that colin firth pic. i think you and me should have a tea party with april and invite mr colin firth to join us. heehee! how handsome!
i didnt even know who colin firth was until one of my freinds told me about What a Girl Wants with him and amanda bynes as his daughter. i saw that and fell in love with him, then i got to see him in his version of Pride and Pejudice and he swept me off my feet!......not as much as gary does though.

I had the pleasure of watching a rollicking "studio" film by Pappy/Zanuck: FOUR MEN AND PRAYER. It was very entertaining and I enjoyed myself with this amusing and exciting diversion. If you know where to look and you enjoy a good 'treasure hunt' as I do, you can find "Fordian" moments in even the most seemingly studio-manufactured production. The premise of the movie is that the gallant miliatry man C.Aubrey Smith has been framed and kicked out of the service nefariously and it's up to his four sons (Richard Green, William Henry, David Niven and Georgie Porgie Sanders) to find out what's behind it and clear their father's name. The adventure takes them all over the globe and along for the ride is radiant Loretta Young, who quite honestly never seemed so spunky and energetic as she is here. I also noticed a few suspiciously ravishing close-ups, which makes me think a director had a crush. David is given plenty of opportunities to be charming, flirtatious and amusing (his three chief talents) and the business with the "Donald Mouse" voice is one of the wackiest things I've ever seen, especially in the context of an adventure! (ButterScotchTea---I cracked up every time he and the cabin boy went on with those funny voices---and I also think it's bemusing that Ford chooses not to explain what the heck they are doing it for. Sanders' expression when he witnesses this absurdity is worth "the price of admission").
oh sweet april! so you finally got to see Four Men and a Prayer. do you think loretta was the prayer? heehee! did you see that one outfit loretta had on with all that fur? my momma calls it the bear dress. heehee! i thought you would love the cabin boy's language.
it always makes me giggle. i love that part on the river when they are on the boat and loretta is arguing with richard greene and david niven is loking on thinking he is the one loretta loves. poor baby, he gets so confused in this movie, but he is too cute! i loved georgie's role in this movie too! he was too charming not to love! It's fun, beautifully photographed---in fact, the cinematography is gorgeous and the production values quite high so I don't quite understand why it's so little known. I think it's also quite startling in its violence---I wasn't prepared for one particularly brutal massacre and Loretta deserves credit for her realistically horrified reactions. It's perplexing though, how quickly she got over it. I guess she was her father's daughter alright.
that is exactly what i keep asking everyone. i love this movie so, and it is one of my favortie john ford mvoies, granted it isnt as great as HGWMV or one of those heavy dramas we love so much, but it was made in high quality with major stars. not to mention how great of plot it was! that brutal massacre i wasnt ready for when i first saw it either. i screamed exactly on que wit hloretta the first time, now i know its coming at least, but that doesnt make it any better. goodness! her reaction WAS realistic and she did a great job, but she was so stubborn.....as her father was too. it just has to be a daddy/daughter thing.....although i dont htink that image would have left my mind so early as it did for her. it would give me nightmares!
The topic of (illegal) international arms smuggling is still with us and it's interesting to see it developing in this context and time. It's intelligently handled, though of course "carefully" so.
my momma commented on that topic when she saw it too. the first thing that came out of her mouth was, "life sure has changed, thats for sure."
"carefully" is right. that is exactly why i was so slow on realizing what was happening the whole time. they wouldnt mention certain things that were happening and showing other certain things.......well life sure has changed.
Richard Greene is very handsome but I think he is the one cast member who holds things back a bit; no emotional expressiveness at all. But here's a delight! I actually saw George Sanders get emotional in a movie! And I also got to see him stripped to the waist and what a great physique he had at this time---yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmy!
that is my favorite part, april! heehee! when all four of the brothers strip down to their undergarments to go swimming after the bad guy i was all eyes!
richard greene had a physique ahead of his time, i think. i mean wow! -
hello addie! thanks for that lucy/desi video! i enjoyed that very much!

-
oh my goodness ang! im telling you this is way too freaky. i had a gary dream last night too!
this makes how many times we have had gary dreams in the same night again? heehee!
i just love your dream....gary had his tuxedo!! was he by any chance even close to a jungle? just asking.
i guess a picnic will have to suffice. heehee!mine was a weird one too....i dont know how many more dreams i will have with his overalls on, but he had them on once again. this is becoming a habit on his in my dreams on him. heehee! but he looked awefully handsome in them! he randomly ran into me in the street as i was running as fast as i could crying. i dont remember why i was crying, but he knocked me down trying to pass me on the sidwalk ,but stopped and helped picked me up to my feet. he was apologizing so much he didnt quit talking and i was getting up saying everything is okay, no harm done and then i see his face. (gasps) i was on the ground again....well actually he caught me in his arms. heehee! and then i woke up on his balcony over-looking the city on a daybed sort of thing. i closed my eyes again b/c the sun was in my face , but i opened them again to a shadow in front of me. i saw his glowing face leaning over me and then he put some sort of bandage on my head. i didnt even remember hitting my head! anyway, i never said one word b/c i was so disturbed by something and he never said anything either, just looked at me while taking care of my bruise and then suddenly after a couple hours he came over and asked me why i was crying when i bumped into him. i didnt want to tell him, so i just kept staring out into the city watching everybody do different things around me. he stayed right next to me just looking at me and all the sudden i was breaking out in tears. i just spilled everything that was bothering me. goodness knows why! he sat closer to me and held me against his chest stroking my hair and then my mother woke me up.
honestly! i wanted to know what happeened next! heehee!
-
