i just love helen and mishca in this movie so much!!!
-
"pink champagne please..." heehee!

-
i know, i dont think myrna could ever do that to anyone. im just being silly. heehee!
-
"did you say something about scrambled eggs?"

wow! we better stay away from myrna today, with that knife in her hand and her face looks a little vicious. heehee!
-
If I were careful it wouldn't be much fun.
Spoken like a true floozy.
Hey, I heard you still had some feelings left over that needed trampling.
I'm sure you'll take care of that!
Theresa! Let's throw him in the chocolate!
a floozy? oh now we're floozies....spoken like a true Grumpy. heehee!
one, two, three....push!!
uh oh! it looks like he slipped.(look up whistling innocently). heehee!
-
....isn't there a slight resemblence between Louise and a certain Quaker bride? Now I see why Mr Grimes is on her side so much....
absolutely! now we now why mr. furter prefers louise caine,b/c miss amy aka grace kelly has left a terrible influence in him. its no wonder! great catch april!
I can't fathom how Louise could be married to Paul (in Valley of Decision) and not be crazy for him...she must have been frigid.
you can say that again! heehee! i agree whoheartedly. thats like looking at gary and then going with what you are doing immidiately after. i cant even concentrate for the rest of the day after looking at gary and the same with mr. peck!

here are the two great dancers of the modern times

lol, thank you Theresa, I mean Mrs Doniphon (he's getting quite a harem together). Roasted "frankiefurters" on the menu for tonight?
yes he is. he better make room for all of us. heehee!
oh roasted frankfurters. sounds delicious!

-
She did not! She didn't know how to tell the Scott family dinner was served.
that falls under her personality category of shyness and innocence though, that doesnt count. heehee!
Why couldn't they? He was madly in love with her. Don't you think Paul was man enough to handle the circumstances that come with marrying the family maid?
it wasnt a matter of if HE could handle it. it was a matter of gossip and pride, and what other people would think of the situation. yes paul was MUCH man enough to handle any of it, but then again he wasnt thinking of what other people would think of that. he was only thinking aobut them and forgetting about the rest of the world.
She wasn't a witch! Sweet Louise was in love with Paul until Mary came along and stole him from her. And who does Paul end up marrying? Louise. She was willing to love him. She didn't abandon him. She stuck with him.
louise wasnt in love with paul. she only wanted him for his money, and his looks drew the rest of her mind into it. her greediness was clouding her mind rather than wanting to love him for him and what he did with his family's mill. she didnt care about his wants and needs, she only cared about herself.
But he wasn't. He's Paul and Louise's son.
yeah but did you see the way louise pushed him aside when she wanted something? the poor baby! mary immidiately became freinds with little paulie because she was friendly and sweet. if louise hadnt have married paul and she came across little paulie ten years later, she wouldnt have treated him as nicely as mary did. heehee!
you just hurt april's feelings?
Who? She probably doesn't have any feelings to hurt anyways.
thats because you trampled on the rest of her poor feelings. poor april. now go give her a hug for saying that.

Garson, Cooper, Young, and Colman films are pretty darn trashy. Lots of sappy stuff.
wow! frankiefurter, you are really pushing it. i think you DO take pride in doing this. im not questioning this anymore. i know better. heehee! sappy stuff is always the best way to go.....april would agree with me.
Well, yes, I really liked that Mary was very shy at first, but she should have dropped all that shyness later on. She needed to accept Paul's love, not push it away. Poor, poor Paul.
she did accept it, but if she had actually shown her love for him than he would have still greater determination to marry her. paula's mother also understood this, that is why she suggested that mary go with connie on her honeymoon to take care of them.
I have to test (or is it tease) you on your favorite films. Are you sure you really want me to watch your films?
oh is that why? i was beginning to wonder myself. heehee! i love spreading around the best movies to watch with other people....even if the person i am trying to share them with is obssessed with noir movies who scare people out of their wits. heehee!
-
Well, after the way they've been trampled upon last night I'm surprised I have any left!
oh sweet april needs a hug now! i'll push one trough the keyboard for you, just like i pushed some warmth over there for your hard winters a few times. heehee!
And look who's criticizing about "trashiness" ---- I never saw so much from you as I read in this thread lately. Trashing poor Theresa's favorites (I wouldn't expect anything less regarding my own) and driving poor Lynn and JackieF out to Monument Valley.
you tell him april!! ill join you.....poor lynn and jackie have to put up with you mr. furter. you should be ashamed of yourself. heehee! not to mention i have to put up with you totally trashing my mary rafferty. how dare you?!

I'm going to join the other Mrs. Doniphon now....
wait up for me girls, there's gonna be three of us.
-
Unfortunately we didn't get that sign up quick enough, he snuck in anyway!
so i've noticed. heehee! i guess well just have to pass on the 8 year old tree house idea.
it was a fun idea though you have to admit. -
I'm always in the mood for Aline MacMahon and Rosco Karnes, as well as Frank McHugh, Hugh Herbert, Edward Everett Horton, Una Merkel and all those other marvelous 1930s familiar faces.
oh i love edward everett horton and una merkel in all their mvoies. they make me laugh way too muhc, but then again noone can laugh too much! heehee! and when they are together they are a riot!
-
I would suggest the thread be somewhat exclusive, in other words, no one allowed who picks on poor defenseless females, lipstick wearing cowboys and sons of Irish immigrants.
ooh we could always get one of those little pieces of cardboard you get from the side of a box and write on it saying, "no boys allowed....whose names are as follows: ken, frankiefurter, scott." well i guess that just about covers it. heehee!
-
oh yes jackie...tea on the ceiling. hwy didnt i think of that before? heehee!
uncle albert looks a little gloomy, we shall make him feel better....i know a good joke to go with our tea.
i know a man with a wooden leg name smith......
grandmama says that the song, "i love to laugh", is my theme song. so i had to laugh of course to that coment. heehee!

wow! frankiefurter! thank you so much for those picnic pics! i came across the impression that you thought Random Harvest was so-so.
well i love the Random Harvest picnic scene anywho. you are such a darlin'!
"smithy do i always have to take the initiative? youre suppose to kiss me darling." (sighs)
it isnt every day that i get pics from both of my fav actors having a picnic. now if only greer and gary had a picnic together in a movie, i would be in sheer heaven. banana oil! heehee!
...and then i have that handsome mr. peck over there, but he belongs with mary rafferty, not with ingrid bergman. -
I also deleted it.
oh thats gonna make a tear roll down my cheek! where's my hanky? wait its still wet! oh no!
You're still peppery, Mary Rafferty. It's a real sad day when guys have to use pepper spray to keep desperate gals like you away from them.
that was just plain mean! heehee! but the mary rafferty part was nice, i just love her character. she was so innocent and sweet yet she knew how to handle any situation. she and paul were deeply in love but that HAD to put the ocean between them b/c she knew they could never be together. although i think they could have actually made it if they at least tried and that aweful louise caine was a wicked witch! little paulie could have been mary's son. oh it is so sad, but its one of those movies you cant bare not to watch it and completely fall in love with it and the characters within the story.
It's so-so.
only so-so? that means you think Gone with the Wind is horrid. it had to be one of the toehr. you just hurt april's feelings? "have you no compassion on her poor nerves?"
~okay sweet april you better not hesitate with that quote either. heehee!
Who's April? I don't know this girl. I hate to say it, but you are the person on this board who likes the trashiest films.
wow! that alheimers is kicking in again. heehee! or is it your short term memory loss? oh well its one of the other. heehee! i like the trashiest films? could you please tell me which films you think i watch that are so trashy.
Mary Rafferty is a home-wrecker! That poor little boy is going to lose one of his parents because of her. How awful! Why did she have to kill Paul's heart by putting an ocean between them? That's terrible! Paul just wanted to know Mary loved him and she turned her icy shoulders on him. She was cruel to Paul and his heart.
a home-wrecker? oh my goodness! are we talking about the same mary rafferty that pushed mr. paul awat when HE kisses her on the boat? that sweet mary? my goodness! i think you take pride in doing this to me. your sybil has come out again and stabbed me in the heart. heehee!
That's crazy talk! I pick on you all the time and I dislike you with a passion.
i feel another tear streaming down my pink cheek.
-
If you're nice maybe winsome Miss G, Buttercutie, Whistlinsweetheart and I will give you a treat.....
oh thats sweet! yeah what she said frankie! heehee! sit boy, sit boy, good boy! here's some devil's food cake. heehee!

-
"we'll start with some raspberry ice, and then some cakes and tea......"
"order what you will, there'll be no bill....its complimentary."
i love marry poppins!!!
-
At least you posted a Gene pic. I'm sure a flood of Gary Cooper drinking is next up.
not neccessarily!
i think we have made success april! he has gary branded in his head! yay! he will never forget it either. will you frankie? heehee!
-
You're pretty darn bad. I need to find some pepper spray.
well now i know you read my pm. heehee!
please dont get that out, "i washed me face and hands before i come i did","im a good girl i am!"
One of those films is so-so and the other is horrid. Why must you gals insist on liking trashy films?
you arent telling me Random Harvest is horrid are you? not MY Random Harvest! heehee!
trashy films? who likes trashy films? it isnt me or april....you are the one who likes scary movies, not us.
Of course I did. The film taught me a couple lessons -- 1) Get angry and kill those you disagree with. That's important. 2) Move as far away from the person you love the most because it's best to let them marry someone else and then break up that marriage in the end. With those kind of lessons, it's no wonder you listen to the advice of bad girls.
YOU DID?!! ya-- wait! it taught you what? if i leanered anything from that movie, it wasnt either of those two things. it was that you could find your future spous just by being a miad.....heehee! not really, but that was just too romantic.
didnt you at least think they were a cute couple?
-
I wasn't criticizing her---I admire her taste!
i know sweet april. but i was told that you pick on the ones you love, and you are my older sister arent you? i have to find something to pick on you about. heehee!
by the way my hanky wasnt all the way dry yet and when i saw that pic of grgory peck i was drooling all over the keyboard. the hanky couldnt catch it. heehee!
-
Shouldn't you be watching a Greer Garson slasher film or something?
what? greer never did such a thing! she would never make a slasher film. she was too ladylike and too much fun to do that sort of thing......did you watch Valley of Decision frankie? you are torchering me here!...or are you meaning to do that? i would believe that if thats what you are trying to do. heehee!
